Several decades ago, when I started writing about nutritional therapies and wellbeing, I became an early convert to taking vitamin supplements. These were the new kids on the block and I was fascinated to learn about the benefits of high-strength vitamin C from the likes of twice Nobel prize-winner Professor Linus Pauling and discover powerful antioxidants during my visit to interview Harvard University’s leading nutritional research team. My early bestsellers, such as Vital Oils (all about essential fatty acids) and The ACE Plan (the first consumer guide to the antioxidant vitamins A, C and E) focused on the benefits of these nutritional health savers as supplements.
