This book provides a fresh insight on how we can incorporate two elements in our worship services, in order to have Holy Spirit-led worship. Discover how you can take your worship services to a higher and a deeper level. Consistently experience God's presence by effectively incorporating these two elements in your worship services. This book can encourage worship leaders on how to invite Holy Spirit-led worship in their services. God’s Original Plan

Praise and worship are God’s gift to restore His presence to man.

    —Myles Munroe

In Isaiah 29:13, the Lord says, These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.

Man-made rules and traditions are detestable to God. I believe we have missed the mark in worshipping God according to the way He prescribes. Why has His presence eluded us for so long? Leading praise and worship ministers agree that we are lacking in miracles and the manifest presence of God. This is one of the reasons we are not seeing the power of God. It is also why we’ve been waiting for a revival, but nothing has been forthcoming. We are not waiting on God to move; He is waiting on us!

Man was created to dwell in God’s presence. Prior to the fall, the Lord God regularly fellowshipped with Adam and Eve.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, Where are you? He answered, I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid. (Genesis 3:8-10)

You only recognize sounds that are familiar to you. Adam and Eve were acquainted with hearing and then seeing God walking in the garden. This was a time they looked forward to—fellowshipping with the Lord God.

However, that plan was thwarted. After the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were driven from the presence of God and from the very environment they were created to dwell. Imagine an animal removed from its natural habitat and forced to live in another environment not designed for it. For example, if you remove a fish from its natural habitat, water, it immediately begins to die. If you pull a plant from the soil, it begins to wilt and dry up, and within a couple of days, its dead. So it is with us. We thrive when we live in God’s presence. Incidentally, being thrust from God’s presence was always a sign that God was no longer pleased with a person. When God rejects you, He removes His presence from you. Second Kings 17:18 says, So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from His presence.

Since Adam and Eve were now banished from the Garden of Eden, God had to come up with a new plan. Namely, through the work that Jesus did on the cross, intimacy with God and His presence would be restored to man, and His Spirit would live both within and among us. Now we can fellowship and commune with God through prayer and by reading His Word. We are also able to draw close to God through praise and worship, which is the quickest way to enter His presence.

God designed and created us to worship Him. Sadly, man has perverted this desire by replacing that God-given void with various idols. We see this throughout the Old Testament with the children of Israel. Over and over, they got into trouble for their worship of other gods. In our time period, our idols might be material things such as cars, houses, clothing, or jewelry. In pop culture, people worship movie stars, musicians, and other famous people. These are all forms of idolatry in the modern world. Some people even worship themselves. Ultimately, idolatry is the desire for man to be independent of God. The children of Israel were taken into captivity because of the sin of
