    Prologue

While people are saying, Peace and safety, destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

We think because we live in this wonderful age of technology we are somehow better people than societies of days past; that somehow this culture we have created in America, and projected around the world, is good and healthy. I strongly disagree.

We are living in the darkest times mankind has ever known. We are blind to see it. Evil is ever present around us. We live in it and with it. We allow it into our lives daily, sometimes unbeknownst to us. The subtle deceit of this evil hardens our hearts, allowing us to passively accept it. In God’s eyes this is as much a sin as committing the sin.

This book will reveal this evil, how prevalent it is in the world that surrounds us, and how we can prepare ourselves for what is to come.

Many preach about the end times and there are many different ideas, opinions, and interpretations of the Scriptures concerning the end of times. In my opinion there are many flaws in these differing viewpoints. We, in the western world, want to believe we are too good to go through any of the real bad stuff as pertains to God’s anger. So, the majority of the teaching is that God will take all of us out of the picture before any of this real bad stuff happens. This is not the case. We will completely discover this as we go through the Book of Revelation. Man has the tendency, when he can’t understand something in Scripture, to interject his own ideas or thoughts or to just think that God is speaking in a metaphoric sense. This comes from us not allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us through his teachings, even when we don’t like what he says. We must stop putting our own creative thinking into His scripture. God did not speak to us using metaphors and symbology. Yes, there are a few times when there are symbolic references to something God has said but it is not the norm. God speaks to us very literally in Scripture, and, hopefully, you will see this in this book.

I am not trying to take away from anyone preaching the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. Nor am I trying to take away from someone who is preaching loudly, like John the Baptist who says, …prepare the way of the Lord…. But when it comes to interpreting what scripture is saying, we must be certain we are allowing the Author to speak, and we must strive for His accuracy. This is extremely important when it comes to the Book of Revelation. Revelation chapter 22:18-19 states I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. God takes Revelation very seriously. We must too. I am reminded of what Paul told Timothy; All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteous, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Now you will surely ask; what then makes me an expert on this? This is a very good question. When I started this, I too, asked God, why me? What do I know? Am I an expert? The Holy Spirit showed me John 7:15-17. You can read this for yourself. I am no expert but I am a willing vessel to be used as He wants. I truly do not feel worthy and I will tell you why. I accepted Christ as my personal savior at the age of 13. It was 1975 and I was at a David Wilkerson crusade. I can remember Dallas Holmes singing Rise Again. However, for the past 33 years I have done nothing of importance with that salvation. God has been with me from my birth but I have ignored His presence. I was a successful commercial airline Captain with a nice home and a wonderful wife and kids but I was a sinner. I was deceived by the world. I was living by the world’s standards, falling from the very salvation I had found as a child. God found me once more on March 7th, 2009 and I write this from prison. I have spent many, many days weeping, fasting, and praying before my Lord lying prostrate, on a cold concrete floor, for hours on end in rivers of my own tears. My clothes were drenched in that sorrow. I saw my life through His eyes and I was humbled. I painfully allowed Him to peel away my pride and allowed Him to cleanse and renew in me a new spirit. He made me see the deception and sin in my life and has removed that sin and corruption from me. He, who is faithful, forgave me and renewed His spirit in me. Then, and it was only then, that He allowed me to see. Until we are willing to repent, fast and pray; humbling ourselves before Him and giving everything to Him, we are not going to hear from Him. Nor will we be allowed to see what he wants us to see.

One dark night, in an 8x12 cell, I heard a low, calming voice say, David. That was it, David. It scared me to the core. I didn’t know what to do or think. I couldn’t move. I felt a calm presence fill my cell and when I awoke I had a hunger and a thirst for the Scriptures like never before. I could not get enough. I was able to see what God was saying. The Bible was no longer simply a book. It came to life and I was drawn to Revelation. Twenty years ago I had limited visions of the future and now I was experiencing complex visions of the Scriptures I had been reading. These revelations were different from the traditional viewpoints of end times I had read or heard from others. These others seemingly knew more than I and I found myself arguing with God. In that same calm voice I heard, write the book. I knew His Spirit was talking to me and now I write what I believe He has revealed to me. From that, comes this book.

The most important thing to know, as you read this book, is that Jesus loves you. He died for your sins. He rose from that death so you might have eternal life. I say might because it is not a given. You can lose that salvation if you do not hold true and fast to the teachings of the Bible. Many have, and will, fall away before He returns. He that endures to the end shall be saved.

This book is written to show you that we are here and He is at the door! Repent. Make ready. At what hour or day will he come? No one knows. We can, and are admonished to discern the signs of the times. Many unbelievers will perish, and many lukewarm Christians will fall victim to apostasy. They will fall away from their faith and perish in these last days. Many already have. The deception Satan has brought upon the face of the earth is great. Pride, self worth, immorality, vanity, and pride of might are all designed to lead man away from faith in Jesus who is the sole prerequisite for our salvation. Being led by the world is enmity toward God. Turn away from that which you are and don’t fall for it any more. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to sorrow. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:9-10)

Out of hundreds of millions, only seven were saved from the great cleansing flood of Noah’s day. How many will escape the great apostasy happening now and what is yet to come? Does your righteousness exceed that of the Pharisees (religious leaders)? Is Jesus truly the Lord of your life?

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

This is happening all around the world today. Evil is ever present. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is
