God's Clear Voice - Anthony Mark Ortiz
Dedication
This book is a gift to my wife, who believed in me and encouraged me when I didn’t even believe in myself. I love you.
Preface
God used angels, visions, and biblical scripture to give me revelations and show me how clear the Bible really is. God used these revelations to expose the fact that people constantly overlook God’s clear voice in scripture because they assume to know things to be true just because they have heard it preached many times before. To stop this from happening in my life, God allowed things to happen to me that wiped out all of my memory and separated me from society and the teachings of man. Through those circumstances, God showed me how the Holy Spirit is the true teacher of His word and how clear His word really is once you get rid of the preconceived ideas of what scripture says. In John 14:26 and 1 John 2:26-27, Jesus and the apostle John both clearly state that we should not rely on man to teach us; we are to let the Holy Spirit teach us all things and reveal all truth to us.
Acknowledgments
To God, our Heavenly Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, who shows no partiality and has given me the revelations in this book so that I can have the privilege and honor of using it to edify the body of Christ and help prepare people for the great spiritual war to come.
To Holy Spirit, who is my Teacher, my Helper, and my Comforter, and who instructed me and guided me in the writing of this book. I know it was all You. I could not have done it.
To my amazing wife, who displays the love of God better than anyone I’ve ever seen and has stayed by my side even though I was given a life sentence in prison for a crime I didn’t commit. She has never stopped supporting me in the fight for the truth to be revealed and my innocence proven.
To everyone at Trilogy publishing for giving this first-time author a chance to contribute to the kingdom of God with this work. God bless the work Trilogy is doing.
To TBN, for your 2nd Chance Initiative, which provides prisons with daily inspiration and Biblical teachings. Your network is a constant light in a very dark place.
Introduction
By taking this journey with me, you will come to realize how clear God’s voice really is and learn to hear Him clearly. Along the way, you will also learn amazing spiritual principles that I learned when God gave me the ability to see into the spiritual realm and sent the angel Gabriel to give me revelations through visions and scripture. You will learn the extremely important spiritual principles that God himself taught me and instructed me to teach others. Spiritual principles like what spiritual battles really are, how to be victorious over spiritual battles, and how to thrive with peace and joy when you’re in the midst of even the worst trials and tribulations. You will learn what’s happening in the spiritual realm that you can’t see as you are engaging in spiritual warfare. Then you will learn how to use that revelation to conquer every spiritual battle you will ever face.
We will learn all of our spiritual principles using the example set forth in Acts 17:1-12. In this account, we read about how the apostles Paul and Silas go to Thessalonica and "reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead, and saying, ‘This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ’ (verses 1-3). But some of the Jews that were not persuaded
became envious of the apostles and riled up the people of the city against them (verses 5-9). So the apostles left and went to preach in Berea. (verse 10) And then we are told that those in Berea
were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed" (verses 11-12).
So we see that as a result of them being willing to listen to the apostles preach and them doing their own scriptural research to see if what the apostles were saying was true, many of them believed. That Greek word that’s translated fair-minded
has a transliteration of eugenesteroi
and actually means noble-minded
or one having an exalted moral or mental character or excellence.¹
Thus, we learn from this account that revelation is properly received by (1) not being envious and attacking the teacher, (2) having an excellent moral and mental character that is willing to listen to scripture based teaching, and (3) doing diligent scriptural research to make sure that the teaching is true.
I cannot stress to you enough how important it is to do your own Bible study without going into it with preconceived ideas of what it says and means just because you heard it preached many times before. You would be surprised to learn how flawed some of the teachings that preachers have learned in seminary really are. In this book, we will look at a couple of things like faith
and the rapture
that most all of us have been taught in a scripturally inaccurate way, and show how important it is for you to do your own scriptural research on the things you are taught. Preachers are of great value to the church, but they cannot replace your own scriptural research and the revelations that the Holy Spirit wants to give you when you go to Him for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
So I ask that you read this book with an open mind, verify for yourself that the teaching is scripturally sound, and avoid the urge to be critical and dismiss a certain point just because you heard something contrary preached many times before. This is how I learned to hear God’s clear voice, and I invite you to take this journey with me so that you too can come to realize how clear God’s voice really is in your life and come to learn how to hear Him clearly on a daily basis.
All quoted scriptures are from the New King James Version. This book will not use various versions of the Bible in order to try and find a version that best proves the point. I don’t believe this type of manipulation is acceptable.
Chapter 1
A Chaotic Life and a Nightmare Come True
As a preteen, I had a dream. Or maybe a better word for it is a nightmare. In the dream, I was convicted in a criminal court for a crime I didn’t do and was sentenced to life in prison. I used my time in prison to learn all that I could, and many years later, I was released from prison and became wealthy. The dream was very realistic, and I remembered it clearly for years. However, I eventually forgot about it as the years went on. I would never have guessed that dream was anything but that, a dream.
Preteen life was a very difficult time for me. At the age of eight, I was in the front yard of our house when my brother Andrew (not his real name) thought it was a good idea to play David and Goliath. Unfortunately for me, my brother had a great imagination and had no problem picturing me as a nine-foot champion Philistine warrior. Apparently not wanting to deviate from scripture, my brother pulled out his sling, put a stone in it, and struck me square in the head!
I felt no pain and pretty much went on with my day. However, I woke up in the middle of the night, knowing something was wrong. I tried to talk to my sister and started to panic as I began to realize that I couldn’t speak. My sister recognized that something was wrong and went to my grandmother, who quickly took me to the local hospital. By that time, I was slipping in and out of consciousness. The last thing I remembered was being on a gurney and being put on a helicopter. Next thing you know, I was in a coma.
My mother received a word from God that I would be healed, and true to that word, I made a miraculous full recovery. However, I lost almost all memory from that point back. That meant that everything I learned from third grade down was gone. I didn’t even know how to read or write. I was completely ignorant of all the basic principles of spelling and mathematics. And to make matters worse, when I was put back in school, I was placed right into the fourth grade like nothing ever happened. So as you can imagine, all the other kids were leaving me in the dust.
I didn’t realize that my head injury was the cause of my ignorance and everyone else was so shocked at my rapid recovery from the head injury that it never crossed their minds that there might be issues that could not be seen. So I just thought I was dumb. All of my teachers thought I was just lazy and goofing off, so they pretty quickly gave up on me. This led me to ignore my education more and more. Eventually, all the other kids started to ridicule me because of my ignorance. In order to prevent this ridicule, I started to act out in class so that I could get kicked out. I learned very quickly that when I acted out, I was the cool guy, not the retard.
That was the start of my snowball of bad behavior rolling downhill.
In true California fashion, I was passed from grade to grade without actually learning anything. Next thing I know, I’m in junior high school getting in fights and blatantly disrespecting anyone I chose. I started hanging out with my brother Andrew who is far worse than me. Eventually, at the age of twelve, I was arrested for stabbing somebody. I spent the next couple of years in juvenile hall and other youth authority detention centers. While there, I taught myself to read and write and meet other basic educational requirements.
When I was released, I joined an alternative school and was working on my high school credits, and was doing pretty well for the first time in my life. At that time, something happened that changed everything. I got the news that I was going to be a father.
This had a drastic impact on me because I grew up without a dad, and I promised myself I would be an amazing dad to that child. It put a fire under my feet, and I went and got a job at the local McDonald’s so I could buy what we needed for our child. When my son Angelo was born, and I had him in my arms, it turned up the fire under my feet. I got another job at the local Del Taco, and my girlfriend and I both enrolled in the local community college. So I was doing two jobs, high school, and college. I bought an old Buick and my family friend named Steven (not his real name) offered to paint it for me. We went to the store to buy some materials he needed for the car, and while there my life was shaken to its core.
While in the store and walking to the automotive aisle, I noticed that Steven was no longer walking behind me. I walked a few aisles back and found him arguing with somebody. I went over to him and told him he should leave it alone. He did, and we went about our business, purchased our supplies, and left. As we were driving through the parking lot to leave the store, we saw the man Steven was arguing with walking to his car. So, being the obnoxious, headstrong, and egocentric kid most teenage boys are, I agreed to go confront
