Life poses many questions. Dying is one of them: What do we do at the moment of death? For the most part, we deny death. We never really look into the nature of death as a cycle of life. We never examine our reactions; therefore, we never give ourselves the chance to practice how to die; as Warrior Saints, gracefully and courageously.

WHAT IS DEATH?

Death is going home and everything should be counted, taken care of. We all have to go to the One. One is in the beginning. One is the now. And One is the end. Those of you who are sitting here do not understand: the beginning and end are the same. 1/1/87

You are not going to experience death. The word death has connotations which confuse what it really is. The word death represents a fearful end to us. It does not represent an exit which is what it really is. 9/10/83

What is your permanent abode? What is the name of the door of the permanent abode? Death. What is your experience of consciousness called? Life. What is the door you exit through to come here? It is called birth. Birth is an exit through which you come to experience consciousness and life. Death is a door through which you go back towards the realm of karma. That is the click there, the catch 22. After death you do not know where to go. Karma guides you. But while you are conscious you can cause enough karma which can guide you to God and that is called dharma. The difference between karma and dharma is that karma will put you through the cycle of life. Dharma will take you to the freedom of life. As Sikhs, we can explain death. Death we can explain better than anything else, because death to us is life. Death is not a horror and death is not what will bring us to judgment. Death is not that which will cause us pain. Death is doing a job and quitting with a clean account: that is death to us. We are not going to be judged. Once somebody was asked a question. When Jesus Christ could do all those miracles? Why couldn't he miraculously escape and could have preached for longer years? That was the question. Now I'll leave it here because Jesus Christ lived more than a hundred years after crucifixion. And his grave tomb is in Kashmir still where his tribe lived and all that, but Catholic Church is such a strong lobby they don't want to let that whole thing come out. But question was very simple, why he did not escape the crucifixion when he could walk on the water? Somebody with a consciousness replied, what his crucifixion did his life could not have done. It arouse among people the spirit. They refused to live in the apathy and pity of that tragedy. They got up as human beings. They learnt to live as human beings, they raised their consciousness and they became perfect. 7/25/76

Folks, there is no death. Death is what? Going Home. If you do not go home fearlessly, then you must have done something wrong. 7/21/77

They worshipped Brahma, the Lord of creativity; Vishnu, the Lord of sustenance; and Shiva, the Lord of death and liberation. The consciousness became so high that people started worshipping that life is not anything other than death. The ecstasy of spiritual realization became so real, so fundamental, that the human mind knew that where there is no death, there is no life. There has to be a worship for death to understand death so that there may be a good life. If a person does not understand death, he does not understand life. If a human fears death, a human fears life. And if a human cannot be ready for death, he is not ready for life. They realized and understood this. This universe of ours is just like an electric cloud. It has fiber, it has psyche and it has matter. When fiber, matter and psyche are put together it is called a human being. It can be male. It can be female. But these three things which we are talking about, fiber, psyche and matter. It is an electric field. It is an electric cloud. One day it will drop its water and it will be eliminated. It will not be there. It will merge in the universal psyche and that is what the human is. Some of the water will go home and will merge. Some will drop and re-gas itself and become another cloud. There are 8.4 million life cycles of this psyche of fiber, psyche and matter. 3/12/85

The soul never dies. The soul never lives. But the soul is encycled into space. Suppose the soul has to go through 8.4 million lifetime cycles in different variations, half of them in the ocean, half of them in the earth and ether, until it comes through to be a man. 1/14/85

The final graduation is earth. You come to this earth to deal with earth. If you want to start a business, somebody gives you $25,000 to start your trip. That is called principal capital. Similarly, you are given X amount of praana as a principal energy. Actually the formula is: PE is equal to WE plus EE. Principal energy is to work energy plus essential energy, which is also called elementary energy. EE means elementary energy. So, when your soul leaves the subtle body, it will go by the force of EE, not by WE. WE is for this planet. So you have to decide. You take the principal energy, you work out the work energy with your life for fifty or sixty years, whatever your years are. 3/18/85
