Pinball Machines - Stirling De Cruz Coleridge

    Introduction

Many people find pinball machines to be exciting and challenging entertainment. In the past, many people enjoyed playing these games both at the amusement parks and in their own homes.

Pinball machines are not just recreational machines but also serve as a form of entertainment.

They require players to use various skills such as hand-eye coordination, observation, strategy, reflexes, mastery of balance and patience to achieve success.

Most modern-day pinball machines are electronic, mechanical games used to entertain players.

They include flippers to control the movement of the ball and skill shots, and multiball bonuses.

There is a plunger at the bottom of the game used to launch or shoot the ball into play to operate a pinball machine.

The player must shoot the ball with enough force to pass through the appropriate channels on its way towards larger scoring areas.

    Historical Background Of Pinball Machines

Pinball machines are one of the most popular and prolific inventions in the history of video games.

The first pinball machine was called Bagatelle, and it had wooden rails and only featured twenty balls. It was made in France, which is why Bagatelle got its name.

The balls used were metal, and they were fired by hand; there were no flippers on them. Since this machine caused the game to become very popular, other manufacturers began to make similar games using Gottlieb's design but making their changes to go along with their style of pinball machines.

After World War I, pinball machines became more popular, and they began to find their place in taverns and bars. They were also being made in the United States, and the demand for pinball machines was high.

These days, many people are involved with the production of pinball machines, and they are manufactured worldwide.

The game has evolved dramatically over time, yet it still does not come close to the popularity that it once held for a long time.

The history of pinball machines is a long one with many exciting events that happened while being made—names of people who made pinball machines, their success, their themes and their
