      The Story

      Prequel

      They had been friends for a long time. Both lived their separate lives, but both had a little bit of a fascination with the other. A sort of not serious flirting. Almost a friend with benefit situation, but not even that really.

      He, Jim, lived alone near the east coast. He had had a number of on again and off again relationships. Never quite finding the right fit. She, Elizabeth, had a similar thing going but was currently involved in a longer-term relationship. This one might be the one she thought, but she wasn’t sure. Her boyfriend had asked her to make a commitment to him and she had handled that with a lukewarm response and in the end had dodged it. She wasn’t sure what was right for her.
