Meditation to Clear Negative Emotions (40 Minutes)
Welcome to this meditation to help clear negative emotions. Before we get started, make yourself comfortable. Either sit in a comfy chair or lie down. Whichever option is best for you. Take a moment to make yourself as comfortable as possible. And then when you are ready, just allow your eyes to gently close. Notice how nice it feels to shut the rest of the world out.
Negativity and negative emotions can have a damaging effect on your mental health. While they are completely normal and easy to deal with in small doses, a lot of negative emotions throughout the day can have a detrimental effect on your life. With this meditation, you will learn how to release your negativity to make room for a happier more positive you.
Start by breathing through your nose and then exhaling slowly through your mouth. Make sure that your exhalation is longer than your inhalation. Continue doing this for a few moments. By doing this, you are giving your mind and body the time to get comfortable and become peaceful.
You might notice some intrusive thoughts coming to mind. They could be normal thoughts or negativity trying to force its way in. Remember that this is completely normal. Just allow these thoughts and emotions to drift away and then bring your attention back to your breathing. Continue breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
As you drift deeper into a comfortable state, imagine that you are wrapped in a comfortable silk duvet. It cushions you as you start to rise in the air. Experience the comfort and weightlessness as you start to rise. Even though you only have the silk duvet for support, you feel completely safe. Like you are being held in comforting arms. As your body continues to rise and you focus on your breathing, notice how your entire body is becoming more peaceful and serene.
As you continue to rise, imagine a bright light is forming. It feels warm and inviting, like it is becoming you towards it. Just allow the light to fill your senses as your body slowly starts to drop back down again. Notice how your body feels so comfortable as it starts to lower back down. You know that you have been transported somewhere else, but you still feel completely comfortable. Totally relaxed. Safe and secure.
As the light fades away, you notice that you are sat on top of a beautiful mountain. You take a moment to take in all of the impressive surroundings. You can see the few wispy white clouds just above you. You feel like you could almost reach out and touch them. You look down and you can see the distant tress. From this distance they look as small as individual blades of grass. You feel like you have finally been able to get away from it all. Like you have been able to rise above everything so you can fully enjoy some tranquility and quiet time for yourself.
As you look into the distance, you can see the sea. It’s a wonderful blue colour. The sunlight is bouncing of it, creating a warm and inviting light. Take another moment to simply enjoy your surroundings. Fully taking in everything that this amazing place has to offer. This wonderful, calming place.
As you turn to take in the rest of the mountain, you notice a man walking up the rocks towards you. He looks like a warm and kind person. He gently sits down in front of you and smiles. Like you are an old friend who has come to visit you. He says that he is here to help you with your negativity so you can truly become a more positive person.
He says that he knows that you have negative emotions with you and asks where they are. For a moment you’re not sure, but then you notice that you have a pile of orbs next to you. They are jet black and uninviting. Some of them are alive with unpleasant colours. As you look at them, you know what they are. Each orb represents the negative emotions that you have been carrying around with you. Looking at them might make you feel uncomfortable or even trigger some of those emotions to pop up again, but the man tells you that this is okay. He tells you that this feeling will only be temporary.
The man extends his
