DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to my children - Don’t make the mistakes others have
In 1937, a child was born into this world named Elizabeth, birthed by her grandmother who was a midwife not knowing the trials and tribulations that she would have to face in life, caught in the middle of 6 children being the youngest of 3 and the oldest of 3. Our Mother had an illness that caused seizures and therefore lived with her parents, as a child she was unable to attend school or take care of herself as a result of the seizures. Mom had older sisters but they all left home and started a family of their own. When I was born, I had 3 older sisters, 2 had left home leaving my older sister and myself to fend for each other. We were raised in a Religion called the Moorish Science Temple of America, Prophet Nobel Drew Ali who celebrated his birthday on January 8th their Sabbath day was Friday. Our diet consisted of fish and all vegetation we never ate any kind of meat.
As a child I remembered hearing that Grand mom and Grandpop were getting old and would be leaving this earth and they were concerned about our Mother having someone to look after her. One of the brothers from the Temple took a liking to Mom and said he loved her very much and he was well off because he ran all of the factories at 9th & Filbert St. He also ran the factories on 9th and Hamilton Street in Philadelphia which was where we lived, in the state of Pennsylvania. Some of the older people might remember those factories, the owners use to give him all of the material that was left over from the
