Introduction
Growing up as a small child, I often felt alone although there were six of us children, eight including my parents. You see, I was the only girl with five brothers; having a sister meant the world to me. My mother was wonderful, hardworking; she was physically and emotional abused by my father, and so were us kids. My mom tried to protect us as much as she could. Needless to say, she could not always. I remember when I was nine or ten years old, my second oldest brother and me were in trouble for trying to smoke a cigarette my dad told me to flush down the toilet. Well, we got caught, and Daddy said, Go get my belt.
He whipped us until he drew blood; the inside of my thighs were slashed opened like a sausage after boiling too long. My brother had so many opened wounds till it was scary. After the beating, Daddy made my brother get in a tub of cold water then he (Daddy) poured a box of
