About this ebook

Should I Tell Them the Truth or Let Them Keep Believing a Lie?, Carol’s first book, was birthed out of the desire to help others to overcome depression, fear, shame, and defeat when truth seems to take a backseat to lies. Like many newbies (baby Christians) Carol has experienced some challenges in her Father’s house and can tell you, simply, how to maneuver in those waters, without gulping the salt water and bitterness it can cause. Keeping focus on the Father and none other, is the safety net we all need to successfully reach our destination and accomplish all He has planned and destined for our lives.
Should I Tell Them or Let Them Keep Believing a Lie? will have you laughing, crying, and giving serious thought to how we should really pay attention to new converts in our churches. It is a call to arms for Christians to be diligent and attentive to what God has called us to do, and not to leave any wounded on the battlefield. It could be you!

    About the Author

I have been accused of being too blatant with the tongue. My belief is if asked a question, one probably wants a truthful answer. We cannot make proper judgments if we do not have the whole truth. It may hurt or make you mad even, but the bottom line…now we know.

The most dangerous liars are those who think they are telling the truth.

    Acknowledgments

All glory and praise belong to God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Without You, I could not have overcome what I overcame. I am deeply grateful for Your guidance and Your faithfulness.

Darryl G. Blackwell, the best husband and friend I could hope for. You have been the greatest example of how a man is to love his wife. Every time I think about how the Lord brought us together, I am filled with gratitude.

To my precious sisters, Christine and Faye, who encouraged me in every way to write this story, listened as I read what I had written along the way, and gave wonderful suggestions to how to say it better. Thank you!

My friend Martha Jones, it was because of your courage that I found mine. You are special.

There were those of you who prayed and prophesied the Word of God over this project. Thank you for your love!

    Chapter 1

    The Question

Therefore, rejecting all falsehood [whether lying, defrauding, telling half-truths, spreading rumors, any such as these], speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are all parts of one another [and we are all parts of the body of Christ].

    —Ephesians 4:25 AMP

Iwas struggling with this one question: Should I tell them the truth, or let them keep believing a lie?

The summers were always nice, and the streets were often filled with people driving by in their cars with windows down; bicycles zooming by, and the corner store bustled with boys hanging in the front having fun. Back then there was no need for seat belts or helmets for your bike. It wasn't the law. Some days the summer heat was just enough that if you had air-conditioning in the car, you didn't need to turn it on. We would much rather have the windows down to holler with a "Glad
