Screen Shot 2016-02-09 at 1.48.04 PM.pngOver the more than twenty years I’ve known Michelle Taylor-Jones, she would often say to me in conversations, Vera, I’m going to write. I want to tell my story.
My response to her was always, What are you waiting for? Go for it! Someone is waiting and needs to hear exactly what you have to say.
Michelle and I talked and prayed endlessly about that dream being realized, knowing these gifts from God are meant to be shared with the world. And now, she has finally put her fears and anxieties behind her; after two decades of waiting, she has called her gifts to life.
These sonnets will remind you that even when you think God is silent, He is there for you, merely waiting for you to tap into his rest. They will elevate and inspire you to realize that there are no limits to your dreams. Whatever your heart desires, you can reach out to a higher being and He will direct your path.
In the words of Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise.
I believe Michelle’s poems will give you the strength to rise too.
