About this ebook

Those Who Choose to be Chosen offers thought-provoking, inspirational lessons that encourage anyone on a spiritual journey to focus on awakening their divine life mission.

At a young age, Virginia Ashmore's practicing religion prohibited her from attending a friend's church. In her young mind, she reasoned that her friend, and the members of her friend's church, must have prayed to a different God than the God she worshipped. That significant impression launched Ms. Ashmore on a life-long pilgrimage in search of her own divine destiny. She points out that we are all made in the likeness of God and must carve out our individuality when contributing to the overall collective consciousness of the world. After years of study, her personal reflections have developed into lessons that will teach you how to: See yourself the way God sees you Open your heart and find the gift of love Discover who you were intended to be Use prayer to open the door to God's work Through Ms. Ashmore's teachings, you will learn that you are not alone. Open your eyes so you can truly experience all you are intended to see, feel, and love through the glory of God.

For my Dad, my sister Mary, SSL, and the many teachers who allowed the Higher Teachings of the Divine Feminine to manifest through me.

The best moments in reading are when you come across something—a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things—which you had thought unique and particular to you. Now here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out and taken yours.

    —Alan Bennett, The History Boys

    INTRODUCTION

Often times throughout my life a unique feeling would come to me as if on a breeze: I could sense the feeling but no matter how hard I tried, I could not hold onto it. When I was ten, I remember having the feeling I could fly. I could recall what the feeling felt like but concentrate hard as I might, I could not call it forth into being. Years later while having an intuitive reading with a gifted friend, the memory of that moment came upon me and I found the courage to ask what it was I had felt. She told me it was an out of body experience. She spoke of the many other gifts that I possessed if I would only open myself to the experience.

I was 28 when my father passed away from mouth cancer. My greatest sadness existed in the fact that I could not reason the why of it all. Why if he loved me could he bear to leave me? I thought the grief I suffered would never pass. While sorting through his things, as I looked through wedding albums and pictures of his grandchildren, I could not imagine how painful the agony of his death must have been for him to endure. While consumed with my thoughts, this surreal feeling came upon me and I was taken on an incredible journey, an out of body experience. I know it was my father taking me with him on a journey to the other side, as if to show me his life review from the place where he is now, looking back onto Earth. Although I functioned throughout the day, continuing to speak with other people, drive a car, and even witnessing an accident, I remained for hours in this surreal state, floating above consciousness. He showed me how his love for me as a father was no different from God’s love for me as a Father: we are all God’s children. The fact that I cannot see God in human form does not mean he loves me any less. It is a different type of love at a different level. I sensed that where he was, there was no longer pain, or regrets, or fear, or doubts. His life was now about something bigger than just me. He would always love me but in a different way, for his journey was just beginning in his next phase of life.

Years have passed since that time and I have had many encounters with my father as well as other family members and loved ones, some of whom I know, and many of which I do not. I have had visits from angels, guides, archangels, Ascended Masters, and Lords of Light. It is as if I have been granted a channel through which the divine in me can speak the great universal teachings. Yet one theme remains prevalent through all the encounters: we are born at this particular time not by accident but by destiny, it is of our souls’ choosing. As we live out this life here on planet Earth, it is not so much that we have to physically do or perform an act of doing something to contribute to that which makes the world as we know it, rather it is what we think, feel, say, believe and act on, that contributes to the overall collective consciousness of the world. Like a thumbprint, this individual energy stamp brings each experience into creation. Every generation brings forth its own energy stamp that perpetuates our existence.

From as far back as Jesus’ time to our parent’s generation, we, too, contribute to the world, as we know it. Consciously or unconsciously, we continuously create it with the thoughts we think, the words we say, the judgments we make, and the deeds we do. Therefore, Christ Consciousness is where we are in the moment. It is how we partake of this moment. In the moment that war breaks out on the other side of the world, our precise thoughts about it perpetuate the continuum of time and energy. Individually or collectively, we need not physically fight the war to contribute to the war, for our overall thoughts collectively form the consciousness of the world in which we live. Undoubtedly, that is why so many great Masters have said to be careful what you think: meaning if you do not want it, why think about it and call it into being. Because you focus your thoughts and energy on what you perceive to be your weaknesses or that which you lack, you continue to get more of what it is you do not want. This constant attention of energy calls forth into
