About this ebook
The Many Sides of Suicide shows a bigger picture of the problem of suicide than is shown in many books on the subject. It is written with the everyday person in mind rather than in medical textbook language. It is also meant both for those seeking help and for those who desire to be helpful.

Dedication
I dedicate this book to my therapist, Mackenzie Sainz and to all those who, like her, are eager to help the suicidal person.
Preface
For many years I have been observing a great lack of understanding about suicide. As I struggled with my own chronic suicidal temptations and also watched others struggle, both inside and outside mental hospitals, I looked for resources and read many books on the subject, seeking help.
Most of the books I came across were very inadequate to explain the subject or to help a suicidal person overcome their tendencies and many were detrimental to me and to others. The majority of these books were very judgmental and would attempt to either scare someone out of suicide or to shame them for even thinking about it. Several Christian authors claim that you could never be forgiven by God if you tried to take your own life. One of the books I read claimed that depression, itself, is caused by the sin
of self-pity.
It has been a strong burden on my heart and mind to write a book that will address this subject in a way that is helpful to both the suicidal person and to those who want to help them. I also hope to help unravel a subject that is more complicated than it has been treated in the past.
I have noticed that many people try to simplify this problem as having only one cause or only one solution. It is much more complicated than that, which is what I hope to show through these pages as well as to provide some real answers.
Introduction
In this book, I have identified 16 different aspects of suicide which need to be addressed and clarified separately, This is because, through the years, I personally struggled with this problem and in searching for and examining possible solutions to it, I noticed that most people dealt with it in such a simplified way.
The problem of suicide is complex and its various solutions are many. This is why I break it apart and examine it the way I do in these
pages. The more educated we all become about
