The difference between a narcissist, sociopath or psychopath.

In trying to understand narcissism, one of the things that starts to surface quickly is that I am dealing with someone who is not at all healthy. Narcissists are troubled souls, they are underdeveloped in their consciousness, they are underdeveloped in the way they relate to people. They are like a small child who has not yet realized that the world revolves around them, that the world does not revolve around them. Now, the deeper you go into your understanding of narcissism, I'm sure you can see that there are other types of traits that stem from that that can seem quite frightening and then a lot of people will ask, well, yes, I can see the narcissistic element here, but am I dealing with a sociopath or maybe even a psychopath, when talking about narcissism you use the title derogatory, when talking about a sociopath you use the title scheming, and when talking about a psychopath I'm going to use the title predatory. The narcissist has a high need for control, a very low level of empathy, a lot of exploitative and manipulative behavior, they must be in charge, they must be superior, they have an alternative view of reality, they can rationalize anything and everything. Under the heading of derogatory, then, there are other elements that we can add to that for example the narcissist over you yourself which predictably says that they undervalue you, that you are just a pond, that you are just a player on the stage as far as they are concerned and your value is not something that they put a lot of thought into other than how they can use you. They do, they have a strongly critical mindset and in their criticism there has to be someone who takes the brunt of their annoyance, impatience and irritability, and again it's going to be you or their victim, so basically the narcissist concludes I'm very glad I have to be you, and these are people who are impossible to deal with in the long run.

Now let's take it up a notch and go to the category of the sociopath, now keep in mind I put the general descriptor on that as the scheming associate, they are always cooking up some kind of scheme, keep in mind they operate on the assumption that if there are rules out there, those rules don't apply to them and so they see themselves as above the norm. For example, it could be that within a business if a business has a certain protocol in terms of how they do things their thinking is but the protocol is going to be different for them because they see themselves as very special, they identify themselves as very smart and they are to themselves much better than that. Within a relationship it's like, well, most people when they have relationships they handle it with one or the other, but they think they're not most people and then they give themselves particularly in the morality of the title. It's something that just doesn't make sense that for them they can say they're committed to you, but then you find out that there's all kinds of things going on behind the scenes either through addictive behaviors or through achieving their obsessions and being involved with multiple people at the same time. Rules and morals are irrelevant to them, it's what I feel in the moment and so they don't conform in fact, they like the idea that they don't conform. They like to have toys that are a little bit different, they like to have all kinds of activities and adventures that satisfy their passions and obsessions, and they say, you know I'm a pleasure seeker, and you're going to see it and you're going to see it very easily around me. If you catch them doing something, they may say something to get rid of the guilt, like yeah, I guess I shouldn't have done that. But in the end, it doesn't go deep at all, if normal people did something really bad, you would expect there to be a sense of agonizing and soul searching, an introspection of the wrong attitudes and thoughts that led to the bad deed. Sociopaths don't agonize sociopaths don't soul search, they don't show regret, now they can be very intelligent and they can intellectualize all sorts of aspects of life and they can talk as if they understand right and wrong, but down at that instinctual level it just isn't there and doesn't exist. There they do and say whatever is convenient at the time and then whatever responsibility you want them to have is as if it is meaningless, they use all kinds of diplomatic tactics to nullify the possible negative impacts of their actions. They wear masks and one of the things we can say about sociopaths is that they can be very adept at picking out people who can be fooled or picking out people who can be manipulated, because they are adept at talking and they can say whatever is necessary at the time and lure you in. They tend to work very quickly and one of the things you should watch for is when someone tries to get you to join them they have something that looks a little suspicious, but they say it's okay. They convince and seduce you into believing their causes are laudable, they use all kinds of mental dopamine and adrenaline triggers to get you to push their actions or ideas. They work very fast with you because they like to attract people, but if there is something wrong with their organization or gesture they have someone they can blame and it is going to be you or the furthest from their ideal.

Now let's look at the psychopath place and it was mentioned that the word that we're going to have there is predator. Well, when you watch movies and things on TV news, the psychopath tends to have a very strong criminal mind, I mean, when we say they have no conscience, they have zero conscience, it's like they have no regard for order. It's completely all about themselves, they have no need for compassion, they have no attachment to people, they are just tools to be used. They can be very cold in the way they relate to people they must be domineering, they can be very short tempered and can be very overwhelming when someone does something they dislike to the point that their punitive behavior can be very severe and abusive. You are to be used by these individuals, they will see you as their weapon of offense or as their protective shield, nothing more so they have a reckless disregard for any kind of order and have no sense of responsibility whatsoever. Many times these people may have such difficulty in participating in an orderly manner that they operate a bit on the sidelines and don't do well in regular jobs.

There are some common themes among these three categories, the main one being that they operate with the assumption that you are beneath them, there is no sense of equality of occasion with any of these three. You exist in their world if you are just being exploited, you serve a function for them and whatever that function is it is going to be very controlled. If you think you are going to gain by being with these people think again because they have no regard for any gain you may want. To them you are entitled to nothing even though you meet their objectives. When you are not useful, they will try to override your emotional defense by mental extortion and point you out as a harmful agent. This is so because they always try to make sure that they have an advantage over you and know what your secrets and problems are. Another common thing among these is that there is little or no honesty, what you see is not necessarily what is really happening or what is a projection of what is going to happen. You are dealing with smoke, mirrors and shadows, which will change shape at their convenience and delude you with new emotional benefits. Another common thing with these is that if you stay with these people long enough you will be damaged, these are not people who have any regard for your sense of well-being or integrity. So, any plea you have for better treatment or any plea you have for them to look at their dysfunction is going to be dismissed so it's not a very optimistic strategy for us to understand or to engage. Nowadays there are people who are attracted to that bad boy mentality or that kind of wild girl mentality. Either that kind of wild girl mentality or it is almost as if they revere the splendid way of current their masks of these types of people to attract their victims. With the adoption of technology and social media in all social contexts there is an enhancement of the false glamour of people who get away with breaking laws. This effect is most noticeable with the normalization of drug trafficker and criminal programs on television channels around the world. The main role is played by the criminal who subjugates everyone to his will and who is promoted as the relentless performer who accomplishes his goals with perverse methods. In other words, they normalize these procedures in front of future generations, falling directly or indirectly into a circle of influence led by the narcissist, the sociopath and the psychopath. For many people with this type of inclination that really is what we as a culture want to maintain as something that is entertaining or something that we want to aspire to.

How to tell the difference between a psychopath and a narcissist the truth is that relationships with the two types of personalities usually produce a similar effect the destruction of the person through humiliation, abuse and contempt but this should not lead us to conclude that these are two similar disorders. First of all, we are going to see the similarities between a narcissist and a psychopath and what factors make us get confused when analyzing the similarities between these two types of personalities. First of all, both profiles lack emotions and conscience, they have an absolute incapacity to have empathy with other people, there is a total absence of guilt and remorse. Neither of them takes responsibility, both believe they are always right, they only serve their own ideas and dismiss all those of others. They pretend to feel love or other types of feelings, both profiles are extremely toxic people who undermine self-esteem and are emotional vampires since they live off the energy of others. They always try to make others do everything for them, in couples both are destructive and abusive. They do not respect anyone but themselves, they live in an unreal world totally adapted to their needs without taking into account anyone but themselves, they cause harm to their families because of their constant need to harass everyone. They objectify people by using them as if they were objects for their interests, they spend time to catch their prey, they constantly use manipulation strategies with their victims. They have a feeling of deep emptiness due to their lack of emotions and use the suffering of their victims as their nectar of satisfaction that comes to replace their lack of emotions.

Logically, it has been seen that there are so many similarities and confusion when classifying them in one profile or another but they also have many different traits and if we analyze them from the point of view of the differences it will be much easier to identify them. Although it is quite another thing to be able to get rid of them, to do so we must identify the differences between a narcissist and a psychopath.

The first difference is that the psychopath is born with this fixed personality due to neurotransmitter problems in the areas of the brain where emotions are managed, he is totally incapable of feeling. The narcissist, however, forms his personality in childhood, the latest theories allude to a childhood with excessive tolerance and absence of criticism that makes the child feel that he can get everything he wants. The psychopath manages himself badly and is always in debt because he does not care about his economic situation, the narcissist, on the contrary, avoids falling into debt because that would damage his image, appearing as a bad subject in front of society. The psychopath has a great self-esteem while the narcissist has no self-esteem since he depends completely on the praise of others. The psychopath seeks adrenaline and emotions continuously, the narcissist however seeks approval and praise in everything he does, the psychopath needs to punish by his internal sense of justice for example anyone who does not allow himself to be used by him. The narcissist on the other hand likes to punish others to feel important, great and unique. The psychopath usually has a high or very high IQ, while the narcissist is a common or intellectually deficient person with a superiority complex, the narcissist will look for a partner who gives him status and image in the eyes of society. The psychopath looks for someone he can easily handle to achieve his ends, the psychopath has a much higher degree of evil than the narcissist since he has no moral limits, he seeks to take care of his image permanently and dedicates long days to his personal care, whether physical or aesthetic. The psychopath needs to change activities frequently since he cannot stand routine and has a high tendency to boredom. The narcissist needs to show that his family is perfect and presents the best face to everyone else, so he hates to expose his problems in public as he considers it a humiliation. The psychopath knows since childhood that he is different, the narcissist however does not know that he is actually suffering from a disorder but sees it as something
