    Introduction

If you have ever tried to go on a diet plan to lose some weight or improve your health a little bit, you have more than likely seen that there are hundreds of different diet plans out there. They all discuss different ways to lose weight, and they all promise to be one of the best for your needs. But with all of these options, it is hard to know which one is actually going to give you the weight loss and health benefits that you need.

In this guidebook, we are going to take a look at how combining two popular eating plans together can help you lose weight almost instantly, and it isn’t as hard as it seems! The two eating plans we will discuss that work so well when they are combined are the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting.

The ketogenic diet is going to focus on helping you to eat the right kinds of foods. You will eliminate most of the carbs you eat and focus on eating lots of healthy fats and proteins. This helps you to stop the body’s dependence on carbs for fuel and turns you into a fat burning machine. You may have to give up a few of your favorite foods, but once you see some of the great meals that you get to eat instead, and you start seeing how quickly the weight and fat come off, you’ll wonder why you didn’t try the diet plan before.

The intermittent fasting part of this is to help you control the times that you eat during the day. instead of following a traditional diet plan where you might eat all day long, you will separate your day between eating and fasting periods. This helps you to regulate calories, prevents you from overeating or having to deal with cravings, and can make your metabolism go faster and enter into ketosis at a much quicker rate.

Both of these diet plans can really do wonders for your health and how much weight you can lose on their own. But this guidebook is going to take some time to look at what can happen when you combine together an intermittent fast with the ketogenic diet.

We will take a look at the basics of both eating plans, some of the things that you can do to combine these eating plans together, how meal planning can make a world of difference in how well the two diet plans work, how to exercise on these plans, and even some of the tips you can follow and the special considerations that are needed by women if they wish to see results from the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting combinations.

While these two plans may sound complicated and you may be a bit worried about how you are going to be able to combine them together and actually get results, you will be surprised at how simple they are once you get started. The fasting can help you stick on the ketogenic diet without overeating and the ketogenic diet can help you to not feel hungry and deprived when you are fasting. These two diet plans do well at complementing each other and it is worth your time to give them both a try together.

When you are ready to finally drop that weight, lose weight quickly, improve your health and finally get out of a plateau, then make sure that you read through this guidebook and learn everything that you need to know about combining the ketogenic diet and an intermittent fast together.

    Chapter 1

The Basics of the Ketogenic Diet and Intermittent Fasting

Both the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting have gained a lot of popularity in many circles because both of them have a very high rate of success. They can help you to lose a lot of weight and feel amazing in a short amount of time, even when you work with them on their own. Change things up and combine both of these eating plans together, and you are going to see some amazing results with the ability to shed weight, maintain your lean muscle mass, and improve your health. When these two are combined, they are going to produce some great results, especially when you compare them to some of the other fad diets on the market that make big promises but provide limited results when it comes to long-term success.

The ketogenic diet has been practiced for many years and it is based on a quality understanding of nutrition and physiology. The same idea applies to intermittent fasting, which is an ancient tradition that has been used for weight loss along with other health benefits. The combination of both of these can be used to produce results, especially when other diet plans have failed for you. The ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting can help to target some of the key issues and underlying causes of weight gain alongside with imbalances in hormones, especially in relation to high blood sugars and insulin resistance.

The cycle of restricting empty calories and binging as a result of hunger that you may have felt when you went on a fad diet is a struggle that isn’t common when you go on a keto-fasting lifestyle. You learn how to listen more to your body and respond to it properly, and you focus more on eating healthy and whole foods. Neither of these diets require you to obsess over counting calories and you never have to engage in excessive amounts of exercise either.

The reason that both of these are successful individually, much less in combination, is because they focus on actually healthy methods of losing weight and improve your wellbeing, rather than forcing you to always be hungry, tired, and miserable.

The combination of a good fast and the ketogenic diet can work so effectively since both of these are going to be based on changing up the fuel source that enables the body to have plenty of energy. In the traditional American diet, we rely on a lot of glucose to keep us up and running. The body likes to have this glucose because it is really easy to break down and turn into fuel. But there are some problems here.

While the body may like the glucose, it isn’t very efficient when it comes to burning through the glucose. It uses up just a little bit of it and then stores the rest as extra body fat. But it then needs more and will send a ton of cravings and sugar crashes through the body in the hopes that you will go and consume more carbs and sugars. This becomes a vicious cycle of you taking on too many calories and the body not being able to use them up.

With the ketogenic diet, as well as with intermittent fasting, you are going to change up the source of fuel that the body relies on. The body will be going through periods of fasting, where no food, especially any source of glucose, is served to it. And then when you do it, since you are on the ketogenic diet, you will limit your consumption of carbs and instead focus on lots of healthy fats and proteins.

Through this process, the body has to learn to shift its energy source from sugar and glucose to using up dietary fat and fat stores
