About this ebook

It is with great pleasure and concern for the nations that we continue to reach out to our Victory churches to encourage support of missions. For true Christians, the great commandment is an urgent and passionate priority.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe; In my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mk 16-15-20)

We must never forget the poor, whether poor in spirit or poor in the necessities of life. The book of Ruth teaches us a great lesson in leaving the corners of our fields for the poor. Boaz instructed his reapers to leave behind stacks of grain on purpose for Ruth to glean (Ruth 2:16). Giving to the poor should not take away their dignity. That is why Victory Missions looks for ways to support start-up projects so people can work, earn a living, and then give back to the work of the church.
Victory Missions operates on the principle of planting trees instead of just handing out fruit. We believe the nationals of each nation are best able to evangelize the people in their nation. We will help them do this whatever way we can. Accordingly, Victory plants church-planting organizations in each nation along with a Bible College to disciple believers and raise up five-fold ministry leaders (Eph. 4:11-12). From these churches will spring every other ministry needed to meet the needs of the area, such as homes for the widows and orphans, feeding programs, and schools for children and adults to help stop illiteracy and related programs. Jesus is building His church, and Victory Churches International is working with Him all over this planet.
It is our desire to see every pastor and church member go on a short-term mission. Short-term mission trips are an excellent way of becoming educated about the needs of others and what we can do to help the disadvantaged.
We pray that this book will be an excellent resource for you. It is our goal to give you a better understanding of the vision and operation of VCI Missions. Her tenacity, strength and vision have fueled an ever evolving movement. Through all the years of trial and triumph, her prophetic accuracy has strategically brought direction to this worldwide organization and to the thousands of lives and ministries joined to it.One of the mandates of her missions program exemplifies her courageous pioneering spirit:We will not just hand out fruit but we will plant as many trees as is possible in every nation through the planting of church-planting churches. Every tree has a limit to its potential growth but a forest has no limit as to how large it can grow!Hellen Keller once said: “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all”.

    Introduction to Short-Term Missions

This course material is designed to prepare you for short-term missions. It is not to educate you in the theories behind missionary activity, or to teach methods of evangelism. Rather, our focus is toward the practical: to show you how to prepare for and get to the mission field, how to operate and prevail while there, and how to return.

The materials in this course are companion to VCI’s Short-Term Missions video DVD. Some of the information you will need to answer the test questions is
