    Chapter One

    Working Together

It is my belief that it is God’s wonderful plan for husbands and wives to work together in ministry. God is remarkably creative in all that He has designed and planned. That is why people - His creation - cannot be forced into man-made religious boxes and told how they must function. Our minds and hearts must be open to understand the way God would have us function as husband and wife teams.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6 Now, there are diversities of gifts (or varieties of gifts) but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

When I think of the husband and wife ministry teams I know, I am aware of how each one is different. They have different gifts, different talents, and different ministries. I can’t put these teams in one box and say, If they aren’t like my husband and me, then they just haven’t got it together.

None of us can feel that way because we are all so diverse. We have to be mature enough to see that it is all right to be different. It is all right to be just the way we are, to be what God created us to be, and to minister the way God has called us
