Tiffany, thank you for falling in love with my characters from Liberty, Massachusetts.

    Chapter 1

    March 2019

When Frankie McFee stepped into Jett's tattoo parlor, she hoped he would be happy to see her. She hadn't seen him since she was 12 years old when they lived with the same foster family. Unfortunately, they both were removed from the home at about the same time. He saved her life one day and then the next day he was gone.

Frankie never had the chance to say thank you to Jett; and it was because of him she ended up living with an older couple. They recently passed away about six months apart from each other. Her new foster parents were amazing people...they loved her even though she was a wounded soul.

I’ll be with you in just a moment, a voice came from the back room.

She was nervous; she didn’t want to impose on his life, but she had no one now her foster parents had passed away. The information she had found after her parents’ death compelled her even more to come see him.

How can I help you? The voice appeared at the counter and it kind of startled her.

The absolutely most gorgeous man she had ever seen, appeared before her eyes. He was at least 6 foot 2 inches tall, which was huge compared to her 5 foot frame. Both arms were sleeved with tattoos, but that wasn't what stood out: it was his amazing blue eyes, the piercings on his eyebrows and up to his ears, which looked fierce on him as she couldn't imagine ruining his beautiful face.

Umm, I was looking for Jett Blackstone, is he here? Frankie asked.

Yea, he will be right back, do you have an appointment for a tattoo? the sexy man asked.

I’m not here for a tattoo, but I do need to talk to him. Do you mind if I wait, she asked.

No, I don’t pixie, I’m Zeke Nanuk. What’s your name? Zeke asked.

Pixie? Why the hell would you call me that? Frankie said. It irritated her when people pointed out how short she was.

Because compared to me, you look like a little pixie, Zeke laughed.

The bells jingled and in walked Jett Blackstone, he had grown into a gorgeous man. But in her mind, he would always be the young man that saved her life.

Hey Zeke, I brought you a Daddy’O shake from your momma's place, Jett said.

Hey man, I love that when you go out to make the deposit you can never resist my mom’s ice cream parlor, Zeke laughed as he grabbed the cup from Jett.

I can’t help it that Jazz is craving ice cream; it is making me love ice cream too, Jett said.

Frankie was watching the exchange between the two and could tell that there was a real friendship between them.

Jett turned and looked at Frankie, Can I help you with something?

Frankie was stunned to be standing in the same room with the person that saved her life.

You’re Jett Blackstone, right? she asked.

Jett gave her this most amazing smile that reminded her of the kid that saved her life.

That’s me. Who’s asking? Jett looked at the small woman. He noticed that she vaguely looked familiar, especially her eyes. The green in her eyes was a similar color to his.

I don’t know if you remember me, but I’m Frankie McFee, well...I was Frankie Scott when we were in foster care together, Frankie replied.

Jett stood there for a moment, Lil Frankie Scott, from the Arthur’s foster home? he said, then rushed to wrap her up into a huge hug.

Frankie remembered his hugs. They were a comforting memory that would help her sleep at night.

Yes, that was me, she choked on tears as she stepped out of his hug.

Wow! What are you doing here? How are you doing? Jett was so shocked to see her.

I’m okay, my adoptive parents passed away recently, she coughed to choke her tears back.

Oh, Frankie I am so sorry, Jett was surprised, she had it rough in their foster family’s house, and he felt she deserved to be happy.

Oh thank you, but they were older, and I was lucky to have them for 11 years. That’s not why I came to see you, though. I came to say thank you, Frankie said.

Thank me for what? Jett asked.

For saving my life two times. Once from...well...I’m sure you remember, but also for helping me find the McFee family, Frankie said.

I don’t know anything about the McFee family, Jett felted a little confused.

Well, it wasn’t you directly, but it was Officer Williams and your social worker Linda that helped me find the McFee family, she replied.

I didn’t know; I never realized. I’m so glad for you. How long are you staying? Where? Jett started asking questions all at one time.

Frankie laughed, I’m staying at the motel in town and I’m not sure how long or where I’m going next.

Well, you need to stay, I want you to stay unless you have somewhere to go? Jett asked.

Frankie was so happy with the idea of staying even if it was for just a few days. Ever since her mom and dad died, she felt a little lost. She really didn’t have any family left; it was one of the reasons she came looking for Jett.

I will be staying for a bit, Frankie replied.

    Chapter 2

Zeke watched the exchange between Frankie and Jett. Though he had only been working for Zeke a couple of months, he had known him for a few years now. When Jett found out he was going to be a dad, he called and offered Zeke a partnership. He knew that Zeke was looking for a reason to come home and be closer to his mom, but he had to have a job. A small town like Liberty already had a tattoo parlor and it wasn't a good business decision to have another. Luckily with Jazz being pregnant, Jett had given up the apartment upstairs and Zeke didn't have to live with his mom.

The second he saw Frankie he knew he wanted to get to know her. He was done with the one-night stands and relationships going nowhere. For some reason, he felt drawn to Frankie, almost protective of her.

The phone to the shop rang and Jett answered it, giving Zeke time to talk to Frankie.

So, Frankie, you will be staying in town for a few days? Maybe I could show you around? Zeke asked.

I don’t know if I will be here long enough to go sightseeing, but thanks for the offer, she answered.

Jett set the phone down, You are staying around for a while...I want to catch up with you, Frankie. I mean I’ve always considered you an important person in my life, like a little sister. So please stay.

Zeke knew that ever since Jazz announced she was pregnant, Jett had really opened up a lot and wanted people to know him and be part of his life. Zeke hoped Frankie stayed for Jett but, he selfishly wanted to get a chance to know Frankie.

Jett, I don't know, I just finished school and I haven't really decided on what do to next, Frankie answered.

That's perfect, this will give you a chance to stay around and sort out what you want to do, Jett said.

What degree did you graduate with? Zeke asked.

I graduated with a culinary arts and business degree. Although I’m not sure how much good it will do in this town, Frankie answered, But, I will still stay for a bit, as that will give me a chance to research jobs and send out applications.

Perfect, now we need to get you out of the motel and into some place more comfortable and safer. Let me make a phone call, Jett pulled his phone out of his pocket and stepped away.

I may be able to help you with a job, although it's just in a small ice cream/bakery down the street. I know the woman is looking for some full-time help and would probably love to have you in her kitchen, Zeke said to Frankie.

"That would be so awesome; would you be willing to give me the name
