If we get caught, we are going to really pay for it, Billy says to me as we walk quietly through a backyard toward the house where my wife is attending a bachelorette party. 

Maybe, I say with a sly smile as I look back at him.  But you still want to know exactly what they are doing, right?  I have known Billy Jackson since the first grade and he has always risen to the occasion when we have decided to get ourselves into a bit of mischief.  Tonight is no different as I quickly crawl over a wooden fence and wait for my best friend to do the same.

You are fucking insane, bro, Billy says as he laughs quietly.  That’s why I love you so much.  I smile as I put a finger to my lips and turn to walk toward the back of the large house.  Lauren Thomas, a close friend of my wife Madison’s for the last ten years, is getting married to a wealthy man from Dallas.  He has given her his credit card and implored her to have the bachelorette party of a lifetime, supposedly because he wants her settled with the idea that the two of them will always be married once they tie the knot on Saturday.  Of course, the guy doesn’t bring up the fact that he has already been married once before when he tells Lauren that they will spend the rest of their lives with each other no matter what.  I have my doubts, but Madi seems content that there is a real bond between the two of them.

Here, I say as I look at the large sliding glass door at the back of Lauren’s dining room.  I think it’s all going down in here.

Sheesh, man, they aren’t doing anything illegal, Billy quips as he walks up just to the side of me.  We position ourselves near the edge of the door so that we can look between the long vertical blinds just inside the door. 

How would you know? I ask as I look back at him and raise an eyebrow.  Have you ever been to a bachelorette party?

Of course not, he answers.  But these are good girls.

"Good girls, I grunt with a smirk.  These ladies do things behind our backs that we don’t know about, Billy.  If you had known that before last fall, maybe it would have saved you some problems."

Seriously, dude?  My old friend gives me a look that lets me know I have gone too far.

I’m sorry.  I shouldn’t have said that.

Damned right you shouldn’t have.  Billy’s wife Shaina decided that five years with him in holy matrimony was fours years too long.  She left him in October for a man ten years younger than her and it’s rumored that she is now pregnant with a child by her new boyfriend.  Though Billy seems most days genuinely happy to be rid of her, sometimes he gets a bit sensitive whenever Shaina’s name comes up. 

I look back through the window.  They are getting fucked up with that booze.

Billy looks through the window of the door as well and smiles.  Madi seems to really like that stuff.

Yeah, she likes that stuff, I reply.  I can’t stand the stronger alcohol.  It’s beer for me.

Beer, huh?  My old friend nods his head.  With all the work you have had recently, I can see why you wouldn’t want to wake up every morning with a headache. 

I would probably get my ass shocked off, I laugh as I look over at Billy.  Electricians and strong liquor don’t mix.  For the last few years I have owned my own small electrical contracting business.  With a dozen other electricians working for me now, I rarely have to actually handle the business end of any hot wire.  Now I spend my days worrying that one of the guys will do something stupid and get injured badly enough to sue me for it. 

Whoa, what are they doing? he asks as she stares hard through the door.

What do you mean?  I look inside the large house as well and see one of the women standing at the front door.  Someone has arrived for the party and he doesn’t look like the sort of guy you want to meet while enjoying a glass of whiskey.  Cops have shown up, I tell him.  I didn’t think they were being that loud, though, did you?  Billy shakes his head as he continues to stare through the sliding glass door. 

We watch quietly as the police officer walks into the home and begins to speak to the women.  One of them walks up to him and take his hand to shake.  She then pulls away, turns, and appears to giggle with some of the others in attendance at the bachelorette party.  Lauren walks up to the officer and puts her hand on his chest, unbuttoning a couple of his shirt buttons as Billy and I gasp.  What the everloving fuck is she doing?

Shit, I chuckle as I shake my head.  Lauren is so drunk that she is coming on to him.  That poor rich bastard.  He will have to bail her ass out of jail in the morning.

Are you sure about that? Billy asks as he shakes his head.  I don’t think that guy is a real cop.

Look at his uniform, I say as I move around for a better look.  He’s got a badge and everything.

No, Aiden, he’s not a cop.  I take another look as Billy
