    Chapter 1

    INTRODUCTION

    This book is a quick guide on how to reach a state of sustained sense of happiness. It consists of simple spiritual principles and rules, following which you can find happiness in life regardless of your race, place of residence, sexual orientation, religious identity or a lack of thereof.

    All the rules, spiritual principles and practices described in the book are part of my personal experience. There is nothing here that hasn’t been tried and tested in my own journey.

    This book is not for a mindless, one-time reading experience – without practical steps its content is dead. After reading it once, you will simply discover my point of view, my personal experiences, but until the book becomes a part of your own personal experiences – you will learn nothing and will not see any results.

    In order for the book’s principles to start working for you as soon as possible, try taking action first thing tomorrow. Make sure the book is always at hand. In any difficult life situation, come back to it and see which of the principles described here feels the most suitable for solving your issue.

    Keep in mind that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions or advice in life. All situations are different. Still, by applying these spiritual principles in your life, you will always be able to easily deal with any emotions and intuitively find ways out of any difficult life situation.

    Do not be scared by the number of exercises and practices that you will have to master on this spiritual journey. Remember a popular saying: slow and steady wins the race. Do not be too self-rigorous. All big changes always start from small steps.

    Start with small changes: figure out what you could start with today and act on it. Starting something new is always difficult and scary. Believe me, in less than two weeks you will already realize that what used to feel hard and impossible for you has become your new useful habit, which is making your life easier and happier.

    Remember the most important things: the Universe will be helping you on this journey. You will see this from the first days of taking action.

    Chapter 2

    LIVING HERE AND NOW

    Most people understand the meaning of this phrase, but they do not know how to put it into practice and start living in the moment without constantly looking back or ahead.

    The first step on this journey is realizing the true nature of what living in the moment is. What we call life is happening to us RIGHT NOW. LIFE is not a collection of our dreams and fantasies. It is not our past or our fears about the future. LIFE is what is happening to you right this moment.

    Exercise #1: Focus on what is surrounding you right now. Do you feel any smells? Listen to your heartbeat and focus on your breathing. What do you see? What colors are surrounding you? Focus on your sensations. Try staying in this state for at least 2-3 minutes. This is LIFE as it is.

    What are we focused on every day? Right, on our own thoughts. Do these thoughts reflect the objective reality? No, they do not. Our thoughts are just a subjective stream of consciousness that takes references form the past, which is no longer there. It is similar to watching a slide show. Alternatively, sometimes we drift in your thoughts to the future, where we fantasize on how our life could have unfolded; and depending on our current mood, the picture of that future could be bright and joyful or gloomy and depressing. The point is – these things do not EXIST IN REALITY.

    Nevertheless, we readily live through the emotions brought on by these nonexistent realities created by our vivid imagination, and the state of mind that becomes the consequence of living through these NONEXISTENT REALITIES becomes our CURRENT REALITY.

    Exercise #2: When talking to another person, try listening very carefully, following his train of thought and paying special attention to this person’s facial expression, movements, gestures, body language and his gaze. Ask yourself this: "Why is this person telling me this right now? What is the meaning and
