WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK

I was married for four years, and those years were not what I had expected a marriage to be. I grew up reading romance novels as a teenager, and I had developed a very wild and vivid imagination of the kind of love and life I would have when I grew up. You know how those books are structured. Boy and girl meet and fall in love. Most of the time they have one challenge to go through, which they do after a time of separation. They finally get back together, get married, have babies, and live happily ever after.

So you can imagine my disappointment and frustration when I realized it doesn’t work that way. Imagine my pain and discomfort when my marriage didn’t go the way I expected.
