Maria works daily to walk in the light and hopes that anyone that reads this book finds the courage to believe that the rule maker is the chain braker that gives you life with freedom, peace and joy. She has recognized that our works don’t break the chains, that only when one stops fighting to keep them, will the chains fall off our hands. God is the Supreme ruler. “He alone is able to humble those who walk in pride.” (Daniel 4:37) Now rest in peace.

    Dedication

I dedicate every word of this book,

to all people that are looking for hope, value and purpose.

The walk may be hard but is better than a road without, truth and life.

    Introduction

This truth has shown me how I lost my crown. I would not be here if I did not know the pain that people experience due to a lack of knowledge regarding what makes them angry, disoriented, and hopeless.

I am here to share my experiences with mental illness. Through my search and my struggles, God has taught me that mental illness comes from accumulated anger, a lack of discipline, and disorderly conduct. He gave me a list of rules that He promised would preserve my life.

When I first found that truth, I couldn’t quite understand it. I had nothing to lose, so I put it in action. I had tried to change the atmosphere of my life with psychologists and psychiatrists, medicine, religion, anger management, battered women’s groups, and prayer groups, but nothing had helped with the pain from the abuse or made a difference in my dysfunctional condition.

Finally, desperation took over. I stopped complaining, gossiping, and expecting help from the outside. Like a child, I was determined to put in action God’s rules of discipline.

The action started. I pushed the world aside and slowly started the journey. At first, it was very humbling, and I felt stupid. Some days, I called myself crazy. Some days, I lost trust. Since I had tried everything under the sun, I kept exercising those rules of discipline like there was no other choice.

As I did it daily, I began to conquer my fear and to see that order was entering into my daily routine. I was also learning that my tasks were not as heavy. I understood my pain and the pain of others—the pain that came from abuses themselves and others.

It was becoming immensely rewarding. Without being selfish, I was gaining control of my life and being firm in my convictions. If my daily routine determined my future each day, I was determined to work with or without pain for a better future.

I was learning that peace could be part of my mind and heart when I had the courage to face my needs with true love for others and myself. This was the only thing that helped me to stop fighting against others and myself in order to gain honor, respect, and love.

Keeping priorities straight and working on daily routines makes life easier for others and ourselves and helps us achieve healing and hope. If women commit to working together in harmony and care, they will find the courage and the power to demolish any unhealthy conditions that try to destroy their value and purpose.
