Also, during my journey, I've witnessed, observed and internalized a lot of hardships, as well as exciting things that relates to our society and God has given me the ability to create and write from my heart to the hearts of others.
People need hope, faith, healing, peace & security to survive in the world today. It's God's desires as well as mine to see love, harmony, strength, wholeness, wellness, oneness as well as prosperity, in every area of my brothers and sisters lives. No matter what color you are, in God's eyes we are ONE!
Please allow, the words from my heart to penetrate to your heart to may be bring a change in your life and you can be the one to touch somebody else's heart and bring about a change to their hearts.

Regina Jenkins

Mrs. Regina Jenkins lives in Jackson, MS with her husband Elder Henry E. Jenkins. She is very devoted to the outreach ministry at her church. She is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She is the youngest of six siblings. She is the mother of Steven D. Smith, Diana C. Smith and Tyana R. Young. She also has ten grandchildren who adore her, namely Trenis, Jada S., Emmanuel, Jada Y., Sanai, Desmond, Julian, Nilah, Success, and Jordan. Her poems make people smile. She has always loved to write, to encourage and inspire.

My First Love

God, I love you. I thank you for not leaving me and sparing my life, for not allowing death and destruction come upon me to destroy what is inside of me.

Lord, I thank you for sending the perfect labor upon my path to guide me, instruct me and to help me discover my purpose and my identity.

Lord I thank you for giving me the anointing to be used as a living vessel to write this book and to be a blessing to help someone else.

Words of wisdom from My Daddy

You live your life as though you are going to die tomorrow by living a clean healthy life conscious of what you are doing, not doing things you may regret and not having the chance or time to say I’m sorry."

You also live your life as though you are going to live a thousand years by accumulating wealth & prosperity for your children and your children’s children.

Daddy I truly miss you and I promise you while you were on the life support machine fighting for your life that I was going to dedicate my first book to you.

This one is for you planting the seed, while I was a young girl to write my feeling, emotions down with a pen and a paper.

It took a long, long time but it’s here and my heart aches for you and I wish you were here to see this day come to pass.

Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself and thank you for being a father.

Mommy, you just left us a few years ago, and it hurts that you are not here with us.

I know you are with your Heavenly Father dancing and rejoicing, but we really miss you, and wished you were here with us helping us celebrate what God has done.

Your smile, your laughter and your funny ways will always be glued into our hearts.

We love you and never will we forget you.

To Howard , although bitter sweet, We finally made it to the other side and now the world will see that it was all for God’s glory. Thank you for the years we have shared together and thank you for helping me to reach my destiny.

Children: Shaday (my oldest) Jaleesa & Khadijah ( my twins) Juwan (my only son) and A’ Miracle (my youngest) there is a song my Marvin Sapp Never would have made it without you. It was your eyes, your tears, your fears and your beautiful smiles that pushed me to do and be better. We’ve been through a lot and now it’s time for a new thing in this new season of change.

To My Grandma Rose Lee Alston (deceased), Granny Anna Mae, Jackie, Jamelia, Sakinah, Clarence (deceased) Emil, Oronde, & Karriem I love you and thanks for putting up with me even when I was in my mess and believing the best for me even in my failures.

To Uncle Samuel & Aunt Richard Jean, Uncle Joe & Aunt Mildred, Aunt Rose, Aunt Wajeeyah & Aunt Diannah McAllister (deceased) You were my strength and you all pushed me and corrected me when I needed it. Thank you for being a role model to me all these years and thanks for never giving up on me.

And to the rest of my family member you all knew who you are, thanks for all your support during through the good times and the bad ones. We are a family and family sticks together and I’m truly blessed to have you all in my life.

And last but not least, To my Pastor Rodney Smiling and the For 1 Vision Church family, to all my friends, and all those that imparted life, love, wisdom, encouragements, healing, faith, discipline, corrections, rebukes, comforts, love, guidance and the word of God I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for coming into my life just when I needed you the most.

I will never allow a man, woman, anything or anybody to tear my self-esteem & integrity down to the ground, that I lose sight of my vision; heading for a head on collision!

Instead

I will always allow God to be my light, my sight, and my delight and fight all my fights and He will make everything all right; and I will always have the right to be free and just be me!

Introduction

What is a strong hold? A stronghold is anything or person that binds your mind, body, & spirit to things or people that are not of God. The word bind defines as to tie together as with rope, to hold or restrain, to encircle with a belt.

I’m coming out from a life that had me bound as with chains, couldn’t break free, because it had such an strong hold on me that it affected every area of my life. It affected my emotions, my way of thinking, my attitudes, my behavior, the way I responded to people and my family, it affected my relationship with my children was not able to give my children what the needed from a mommy at the time that was all of me, I was not able to function as a woman due to the conditions I allowed myself to endure due fear, lack of education and information, low self esteem, no confidence and it affected my destiny. I’m talking about coming out of being Battered
