    DEDICATION

Lord, you are my strength and my lifeline. Everything I am is because you are the GREAT I AM that dwells in me.

1 John 4:4 (KJV) Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

I dedicate this book to one of my greatest inspirations, my husband, Pastor Clifton Parker, who is the love of my life. Your love for me is, as God intended, surpasses all my understanding. I love you today, and I love you forever.

In addition to my most significant life coach, my Co-Pastor, Prophetess Dr. M. P. Washington, you have been so instrumental in who I am today. You have stood in the gap for me in more ways than one on more occasions than I can count. I could never thank you enough.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I would like first to acknowledge my pastor, Apostle Ronald Washington, at Christ Temple New Ministries.  Apostle Ronald has been one of my biggest supporters. His love has shielded me from many snares, especially in my teenage years. Apostle Ronald labors alongside Prophetess, Dr. M. P. Washington at Christ Temple. God connected Prophetess M.P. and me in the fire. She has been my protector as a child, my life coach as a young adult, and my spiritual mother through it all. I am forever grateful for leaders who shaped, molded and pushed me to my purpose. I am the Woman of God I am today because Prophetess M. P. inspired me to Design My Life. Thank You.

To everyone that makes up the body of Christ at Christ Temple New Life Ministries, you are indeed my family. We have served God together, building His Kingdom. I am proud that you are a part of my journey.

To my loving parents Pastor Albert and Minister Veronica Simon, I am grateful for the endless love, support, and encouragement. Your dedication to God is the reason the Simons is priests in the kingdom of God. To my siblings, A. Simon Jr., L. Cutten, D. Harper, L. Broxton, and W. Walker, I am grateful for the love we share towards one another and our bond. To my loving mother-in-law Karen Stanford, father-in-law Gary Stanford, to my sister-in-law Linda Parker and brother-in-law Antoine Parker, thank you all for accepting me into the family and loving me unconditionally.

    INTRODUCTION

Let us take an expedition back to a time of innocence—a time when life was pure and unaffected by burdens. A time when life did not weigh you down. A time when you had the liberty to be free from the pain and sorrow brought about by emotional distress. Give yourself the freedom to go back.

In your imagination, come with me, as I reflect on a happy time in my youth. I recall a fond memory as a child when I was swinging on the swing set. I can still feel the sun as it warmed my face on that hot summer day. I can remember the feeling of excitement as my friends, and I dared to swing as high as possible. In my mind, I could touch the sky. I would imagine myself flying with the birds in the air. It has been some time since I have felt the rush of racing to the peak, just to jump off. The thrill and the challenge of who could go the farthest outweighed the fear of falling. This is how pure life was.

Can you remember a time of innocence? A time when life had not overwhelmed you with unexpected experiences? The majority of people go through life with a confident expectation of what their life will be. Some may feel that they will receive the benefits of going to college and having a career. Maybe you envisioned your life as the mother of two married to the man of your dreams. Everything seemed to be on track, but unexpected experiences arose and detoured your anticipated life.

Like a thief in the night, an unexpected experience stole innocence. The times of my youth became a faded memory. The burden of it all has plagued my yesterday as I fight for my tomorrow. However, the unexpected experiences caused a detour in my life’s plan; today, I decided to be an overcomer. I decided to go from A Victim to Victorious! How about you?

    CHAPTER ONE

    TENDER EYED

Can you remember when you were tender eyed? When could you see everything through the lens of innocence? This is the gift of childhood. It is a period in your life when you are without fear. In that time, there is no thought of being judged by your imperfections and, as a result, no disappointments. This liberty allows a child to grow and to mature in a way that produces a well-rounded adult. Being unaware of your imperfections freed you from disappointment and low self-esteem. Not knowing this made you feel invincible. This boldness in a child allows them to be willing to experience new things. The willingness of a child is only tainted by judgment.

As a child, you have a clear conscience as you develop your understanding of right and wrong. This is why children are not easily considered evil. In your youth, you spend your days chasing after the experience of joy and happiness. This was a time when you were unrestricted, full of life; this was God’s vision of the Kingdom of God. Consider Matthew 19:14. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew
