What a Difference a Day Makes - Elizabeth Olancin

    SECTION ONE:

    SPIRIT

    CHAPTER 1:

    Putting on your DIVA-ness

    Are you a D.I.V.A.? Are you a

    Devine

    Intercessor

    Vesting in the

    Almighty God?

Or are you using your Diva-ness in all the wrong places and for all the wrong reasons?

The word Diva means: famous female singer, performer.

In Italian Prima Donna means First Lady.

Are you a First Lady for the Lord?

Or are you thinking that you should be first because you are a lady?

The word "intercessor" means coming between, putting time and energy.

Isn’t that what we do daily from sunrise to sunset? We come between our children’s arguments, we put time and energy into our families, husbands, parents, friends, work, colleagues, church responsibilities, home responsibilities, and the list goes on and on. But are we glorifying the Almighty or are we glorifying ourselves?

The word "vesting" means to take ownership.

Are we allowing the Lord to take ownership of our lives or are we trying to do it ourselves?

Let me inform you my friend, it doesn’t work. Let God take control, let God take ownership of your life. Only then will the Holy Spirit manifest itself through you, for you, with you and touch lives around you. Only He will bring you to a different plateau in your walk with Him.

We need to challenge ourselves and look in the mirror and face the factual truth. We are all unique Divas! God created the woman to be a multi-tasker. We take care of our homes, husbands, children, shopping, cooking, , fixing boo-boos, fixing teenage broken hearts, our jobs, church, responsibilities, and so much more. Many times when we look in the mirror we look a little disheveled, but none the less a Diva. We are always under some sort of stress to get things done in a limited time frame.

I recently received the following e-mail titled: True Meaning of Stress. A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience; with a raised glass of water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question, half empty or half full? . . . . .she fooled them all… . .How heavy is this glass of water?, she inquired with a smile.

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. She replied, "The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance.

In each case it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. She continued, That’s the way it is with stress. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on."

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden – holding stress longer and better each time practiced.

So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down.

Don’t carry them through the evening and into the night . . . .

Pick them up tomorrow, if you need to.

Whatever burden you’re caring right now, Let them down for a moment. Relax. Pick them up later after you’ve rested. Life is short.

Enjoy it and the now ‘supposed’ stress that you’ve conquered!"

As D.I.V.A. s, we need to stand in the gap of our families, church, job responsibilities, and so on. Another good instruction and inspirational words that I received lately read:

    1.  Pray.

    2.  Simplify and un-clutter your life.

    3.  Slow down. Learn to relax during the day.

    CHAPTER 2:

    P.A.T.H.

There is a path that divas need to get on and that is the path to:

    Proclaiming

    Authority

    Through the

    Holy Spirit

Are you a Diva on the Path? Ponder on this question and let it sink you’re your deepest thoughts and heart. If you are a little uncomfortable with your response you may want to rekindle your diva-ness and assess the path that you might be aimlessly walking on. Then keep asking yourself-

"Am I a Devine Intercessor Vesting in the Almighty God and am I Proclaiming Authority Through the Holy Spirit?" The response may shock you.

When we open up our hearts and souls to the mighty creator,

He will come in, fill your weary spirit with boldness and joy.

We need to tell this lost world of God’s mighty power.

He is still in the miracle making business.
