FOREWORD
I have been fortunate over time to meet, connect, and even journey through life with some of the greatest minds and talents of our generation. I’ve been with people who live exciting, highly successful, and fulfilling lives. Consequently, I have also been equally fortunate to have done the same with people who balance buckets of water on their heads and walk miles every day so their families can have drinking and cooking water. Whether it's the hills of Hollywood or the bush of Uganda, what they share in common is travail and pains.
In every social, global, and economic order, pain is the neutralizer. It reminds each of us of our mortality and impermanence. It joins us and evens the playing field of humanity, for we all can identify with pain. However, I have also noticed that humans equally share as a common thread, that trait of strength and resiliency in spirit, which allows us to withstand the conditions of our experiences. In this resiliency, our metal is tested, our lessons are discovered, and our faith reaffirmed.
I have learned that the great experiment of life is as puzzling and mystifying as it is exhilarating and exciting; and as confusing and troubling as it is satisfying and rewarding. Striking a balance between these oddities without understanding God’s hand in it often lends itself to helplessness and hopelessness. But every Believer has hope!! Through every season of discomfort more of the Divine is revealed. With this discomfort comes the revelation that gives strength to endure toward a meaningful end. This book is about endurance and the inspiration that derives from a hard-fought victory.
Rest assured that if you are in a difficult stretch of life or in a space where you are confused as to the events of your life, there is a Savior who has been with you all the way. Sometimes as a boisterous intervener and other times as a silent partner, but He has been with you and in the trenches keeping you together while you find meaning. This book will be an encouragement to you and a guide toward understanding how God operates in your troubles and what can be learned from each season. What a wonderful way to regain the power from your past pains than for them to be the stairs which step you in to your into future purpose!

INTRODUCTION
A few years ago, a prophet spoke to me prophetically during a church service one evening. God is going to send you to the nations,
the prophet shared. Your gift and your ministry cannot be contained within this community. The nations need to hear you.
As powerful as that word was, it didn’t come to pass overnight. I’m still walking it out right now. The word could not be fulfilled at that time in my life because there were some issues I had to deal with. There were some pains and some traumatic events that I had endured in my past that would still manifest from time to time as fear. I had been hurt by people I had once trusted. I had been disappointed by those that promised they’d never let me down.
I had been forsaken by those who said they’d never leave me. All of these things caused me to become paralyzed with fear. I became stagnant and unable to move forward with the will of God for my life. It was like having your foot on the gas and the brake pedal at the same time.
I wasn’t progressing. And because of this, I became depressed. I knew there was greatness in me, and I knew that I could accomplish much. But I couldn’t seem to break free from that which was holding me.
It was at that time did the Holy Spirit bring back to my remembrance an encounter, or should I say a visitation that I had with the Spirit of God. The church that I was attending at the time was observing a fast. Back then, I wasn’t an avid faster, but I decided to take part in this particular one. While in the consecration, I was in my bedroom praying. All of a sudden, it was as if the heavens fell into my room.
My mother, who was in the next room, heard a loud thump. She tried to come to my room to see what was going on but was soon overtaken by the Glory that she was reduced to her knees. At any rate, during my visitation, the Spirit of God began to speak. I have not called you to be a prophet,
the Spirit of God spoke. "I have called you to pastor my sheep. Serve
