About this ebook

This book is about emotions we all experience in our lifetime. It also contains my experiences that seem out of the norm. However, these experiences have made my life what it is today and has also undeniably proven that God exists and that his words always and forever ring true. This is a book of hope and that we should allow God to lead our lives through our choices.
We have just a brief window for the life we live on earth and how we live it. Hopefully this book will remind us that through the chaotic and busyness of our daily activities, we will set aside time to listen for God’s whisper.

    Biblical Background

    I

dedicate this book to my children, Donald Wade,

    Annette Benore-Williams, and Benjamin Wade;

to my grandchildren, Zach, Alexa, Olivia, and Josh; and to those

whom I have interacted in my life. May God bless you all.

The following poem is a reminder to be thankful for even the smallest

of blessings. God gives us what we need, not what we want. God’s

gifts are higher than what we perceive to be of value. We become

better Christians by acknowledging his gift, the gift of life.

    Drinking from My Saucer

I’ve never made a fortune and it’s probably too late now. But

I don’t worry about that much. I am happy anyhow.

And as I go along life’s way, I’m reaping better than I sowed. I’m

drinking from my saucer because my cup has overflowed.

I haven’t got a lot of riches, and sometimes the going’s tough.

But I’ve got loved ones around me, and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for His blessings, and the riches He’s bestowed.

I’m drinking from my saucer, because my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong,

    my faith wore somewhat thin.

But all at once the dark clouds broke, and the sun peeped through again.

So, God, help me not to gripe about the tough rows that I’ve hoed.

I’m drinking from my saucer because my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage when

the way grows steep and rough

I’ll not ask for other blessings, I’m already blessed enough. And

    may I never be too busy, to help others bear their loads;

Then I’ll keep drinking from my saucer because my cup has overflowed.

John Paul Moore (1970) from Wikipedia

    Introduction

I t came to mind one day that from my vantage point, I was witnessing the cycle of life. When I looked at my family, I could see them from where I had been and from where I had come. As a young girl, I would sit on the back steps, look up at the stars, and wonder about my future.

That future is now my past, and I see my children and grandchildren now living their future. Our experiences will make us who we are, give us direction, and allow us to teach others. So I decided to write what I know to be true and share this with others.

My hope is that you will find this book enlightening and realize that God is with each and every one of us. He is as active today as he was in the events we read about through his word. I believe you feel his presence in your life, and although his plans may be different than yours, I hope you find the courage to trust him to lead.

We could not be in better hands, and I think you’ll find this theme throughout the book. Although I have written to my family many times and often I speak about my experiences, I want others to know that God is active in their lives today and that his words are not just something to read that occurred long ago. The Bible is to help change us into the person we are meant to be.

This is my initial attempt to start a book. I believe that we all have shared something in our lives that solidifies our belief in Christ. We are unique—one of a kind—and Jesus uses our individual personalities to serve and be an example for others. The Holy Spirit is our guide, and it supports us as we build a deeper relationship with the Lord. Just as we have the promise of the Holy Spirit, we may also rest on his truth. It has been my joy to walk with him, although it has not always been a smooth journey. He has a true treasure for us, the gift of eternal life. John, the beloved disciple, wrote these words that Jesus spoke:

I still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it. However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come."

    John 16:12–13(CSB)

I hope that you will find your own truth through the words of the Bible. Perhaps one day, you will write about your own experiences and share your truth with others.

    Seed for Thought

Powerful are his words as they will heal our spirit and bring us out of the darkness through love that shines so brightly to guide our steps.

    Seeds

    Words of Hope

A s we watch the news and look at the events that are unfolding around the world today, it seems like the seeds of corruption are scattered in all directions. God must be saddened as he looks on his creation.

All news seems to be confusing, misleading, and biased. Words are powerful and have a lasting effect on us. When used in a corrupt manner, they can stir Satan into action. When we look around us at all the seeds of corruption, it appears that Satan has intermingled with mankind.

This nation is different from almost any other country. It was built on freedom of religion and vast opportunities for anyone who chooses to seek a new future.

If our world is to become a different, better, more peaceful place, it must start with us. We can plant a seed of good intentions with our thoughts of hope, encouragement, and goodwill toward all men. The word of God acts as our guide. It leads our souls and is as effective today as it has been throughout time. We can find answers if we simply take to heart the words from the Bible that direct our actions. Raising our children and planting the seed of God in their hearts is better than any electronic game or new cell phone.

As these seeds are sown, so are the effects on our performance, creativity, and personal health. Research shows that happiness and contentment affect both our heart and our immune system. Arthritis and other joint pains are reduced when our mood is positive. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells. It also triggers the release of endorphins, which are known to improve our mood and lift our spirits. And what gives us better joy and happiness than the realization that we belong to him
