Preface
Man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, (Matthew 4:4)
I am grateful to be able to rely on powerful words that have been proven to work for over thousands of years. It is very easy to speak negativity without even realizing that you are condemning yourself and your situation. The enemy wants us to see our situations as hopeless and endless and see ourselves as useless and helpless, but thanks be to God that is not the case. Aren’t you glad that we can speak the Word of God over every situation and circumstance that we have and we will encounter and allow God in his infinite wisdom to take over? What a wonderful feeling! Do you realize we are never alone no matter how we feel and what we see? We are never alone for the Word of God tells us that he will never leave nor forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5) .
Introduction
" S ay It ’til Y ou See It" is a great tool to train your mind and your mouth to speak positive over your life using the Word of God. We must learn to use the scriptures until you see change and until your spirit begins to move into the position that God wants it to be. I was able to attend daily noonday prayer which was being offered at a church where I was previously a member at. Now I was not working at the time and was able to go to noonday prayer every day. It was hard at first let me tell you but I was up for the challenge. We prayed and cried out to the Lord every day, what a spiritual training. At the beginning, I would just sit back with my eyes closed, hoping that I would feel or hear something, but I did not. I would then begin to hum, moan, and ask God for things for my family and for myself; I couldn’t feeling or hearing anything. After a while I realized the following: I was not interceding for anyone else but myself; and, I was praying my own words and NOT God’s. I was praying for my fears and my concerns instead of the promises and the provisions of God. My prayer style was not really causing change, or should I say, it was not yielding much fruit until I realized that my prayer petitions must be changed! There were things that were going on in the community, in the schools, in the churches, and in the world that needed to be lifted up in my prayer. The Holy Spirit was actually training my spirit to pray, and before I knew it, I was a prayer warrior. Now that didn’t mean I didn’t go through things, but I got through things with prayer. I learned how to SAY IT
!
Speaking the Word of God over our situation is like planting a seed in the garden and watching it manifest into the picture on the package. There is a certain expectation that accompanies speaking the Word of God, and we call that expectation faith. Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
This is not always an easy task; if it were, then God did not have to send his prophets and priests out into the land to convey the same message. The message was simple: We are to believe in him who is the hope of glory. Still after years of the prophets, evangelists, and priests, he would then send his only begotten son Jesus whom he was well pleased to reconcile us back to Him. The people have changed, but the message has not changed. Jesus said on a number of occasions, the words that I speak are not mine but the father who sent me. Jesus never came to advance who He was but who God was. He points out that he alone is powerless but empowered by the father in heaven. We need to take that same authority over our lives and watch things begin to line up but not without opposition of course. However, we are not using our own words but the words of the father who art in heaven. The Bibles says, "The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy but I have come that ye might have life, and that life more abundantly (John 10:10)."
This book is a forty-day or forty-week devotional with a prayer journal. This book will help you identify and speak life into the areas that you are struggling in. If you choose to use it as a forty-week devotional this will allow you to spend a little more time studying around your busy schedule. You may also use it as daily devotional, however, if time is not dedicated to it, the information can come and go rather quickly without you getting the full understanding of the message that is being conveyed. I am asking you to read and reread "Say It ’til You See It". I mean really devote time, prayer, and meditation and then watch the manifestation of God! Many people such as myself, like to spend time with the word and let it penetrate the deep recesses of their hearts. "Say It ’til You See It" focuses on the art of speaking life into what seemed to be dead places. You may notice that some of the devotions are longer than others, but please focus on the message, not the length. It is important to learn to confess some positive things over our life because the Bible says that confession is made with the mouth and I concur. Here is one of my confessions, I am what God says I am, and I will do what he says I can do! Together as we begin this journey (at your own pace) through the Word of God and read some of my personal experiences, you will learn to embrace the power of speaking life over your situations so that you may see the manifestation of the Word of God. I pray that this devotion is a blessing to you as it has blessed me to write it!
Dedications
To my Lord and Savior:
Jesus, I thank you for being the head of my life. I’m so grateful that you didn’t let my spirit remain weak but through your Word, I was strengthened. I thank you for not allowing me to remain broken, sad, bitter, and hurt. Thank you Father for helping me to see myself the way that you see me, blessed and strengthened by your kingdom on earth. I am grateful that you have blessed me to be a blessing and that you would trust me with the gift of ministry. I am forever your child and may you continue to govern my soul. Amen!
To my Taj-Malik:
image2.jpgSon, you and I have been through some trying times, but thanks be to God, he strengthens us through them. You were always my reason for wanting to do better. I remember picking you up from daycare one day and we were standing outside of the school waiting for our taxicab and you look up at me and said, Mommy, everyone is pulling off in their nice cars.
What you didn’t know at that
