About this ebook

This book was written to encourage the body of Christ to know that no matter what we face in life we can have the strength like an eagle. Eagles are strong birds, their wings help them glide, protect their young and keep harm away. We too can possess this strength in keeping our minds and hearts focused and believing that with God all things are possible. Just as the Lord provides and protects the fowl of the air so shall He do the same for us.

    Welcome

I was present at an old fashion revival conference called the Love Conference when the guest speaker began to elaborate on the eagle. The insights and revelation that he brought forth that night touched on a reality that too many people are facing. Too many people are living beyond their God given potential and purpose. Too many people are trapped in a mind-set of poverty, and pitifulness. Too many people are walking in the dirt of mediocrity and have succumbed to an existence of failure and frustration. Too many people have bought into the lies of the Enemy and allowed the hounds of hell to intimidate them with the paralyzing emotions of fear, distrust and envy.

Yet you have been created to be and do so much more. You have been created with an extraordinary brain to be creative and a heart to feel the beat of possibilities. You have been downloaded with talents, a unique personality, and a divinely designed temperament. Your DNA code is filled with the potential to think great thoughts and accomplish great deeds. You have a God of infinite wisdom and unsearchable knowledge. You have been given a measure of faith to allow you to connect to the supernatural and the eternal. You have been shaped and formed to be like an eagle. You have been created to soar to the heights of your dreams, visions and your assignment on this planet. Yet God has created you with a void that can be only filled by Him.

I was moved to preach a series of sermons on the eagle that richly blessed my congregation. I sincerely believe that you need to be blessed as well from these life changing words. These materials are taken at large from that series and I know that you will richly be challenged and changed as you work through these materials and listen to the audio messages as well. This exciting study entitled God Will Renew Your Strength is taken from Isaiah 40:28-31. You are beginning a journey of spiritual empowerment as you discover who God really created you to be. Also you will begin with new insight to work through the past season of your life and begin to put to rest past pain, disappointments, unrealistic expectations, unresolved issues, unhealed hurts and struggles. You will be strengthen in this present season and God moment in your life where God is producing change and growth.

Finally, I believe that you will be renewed and refreshed for the faith journey ahead. We ask that you make the commitment to start and complete this educational and spiritual journey and see the Hand of God move in your life. You have been created to soar like an eagle.

    Chapter 1 –

You Can Have an Eagle Mentality

The Almighty God in His word uses metaphors, symbols, and word pictures to describe us as believers! One of the word pictures that God uses in His word is that He describes you as an eagle! An eagle is a majestic bird. Perhaps God’s greatest bird! Eagles are members of the bird family Accipitridae. Eagles are large, powerful built, with a heavy head and beak.

For thousands of years the eagle has been respected for its grandeur. There is something inspiring about its impressive grace in flight, its great wingspan, its powerful claw. It glides effortlessly at breathtaking altitudes, seemingly unaffected by the turbulent winds that whip across and between mountain crevices. Eagles do not travel in flocks nor do they conduct themselves irresponsibly. Strong of heart and solitary, they represent qualities we admire. The eagle mates for life and returns to the same nest each year, making necessary repairs and additions. He takes an active role in providing for his family, protecting it from approaching dangers, and teaching little eaglets to fly. Responsibility, liberty, beauty, stability, and other admirable traits seen woven into the eagle’s makeup, and such qualities cause me to agree with Solomon that the way of an eagle in the sky is nothing short of wonderful (Proverbs 30:18-19).¹ The eagle is so awesome that there are seven characteristics of his uniqueness.

Seven Unique Characteristics of the Eagle

    •   Fearless – The eagle has absolutely no fear of its prey, no matter what size. II Timothy 1:7 God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

    •   Tenacious – The eagle looks and flies not from the storm but flies into the storm. The eagle spreads its wings and mounts upon the powerful winds, soaring to great heights by using the wind
