    What is Vegan?

    Well, it turns out that there are a few definitions of vegan & quite some varying degrees of veganism. I like the amazing definition provided by The Vegan Society on their website:

    Veganism is basically a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible & practicable, all forms of exploitation of, & the cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. There are many ways to embrace vegan living. Yet one thing that all vegans have in common is a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods such as meat (including shellfish, fish, & insects), eggs, & dairy, honey—as well as products like leather & any tested on animals.

    Within these pages, I will limit our discussion to the things we eat, but as you can already tell from the above definition, there is much more to it than that. Now
