Tamar - It's Still Your Coat!

About this ebook
Never in the history of humanity, has the world been faced with so many broken lives than what we are currently experiencing today. Men and especially women who have been bruised by circumstances and events that inflicted deep wounds on their lives and destiny form the units that make up the nations.
In this book, thoughtfully authored by Rev Marjorielyn R Campbell, one of the most painful stories of the Bible is used to address the crippling effects of a sexual attack on a woman by a person of trust in her life.
It is one of those taboo subjects that is never talked about within the family, better left where it is and better swept under the carpet never to receive justice. However, the author has sensitively done exactly that - justice. What this book ministers to the reader is not just something that was learned from another book or concepts that the human mind put together but it is from something that was given by God and birthed from a life totally devoted to God.
No matter how bruised the life is and regardless of what may have happened, the reader will never remain the same by the time the last page is read. Healing will spring from within to the many lives that have been afflicted by this subtle ploy of the enemy to keep the daughters of God bound. A rose is still a rose and at the scent of water it will bud again.

First, of all-utmost thanks, praise and gratitude to God our Father for upholding me by His Spirit and walking with me through every stage and transition of life.
To my husband, Desmond, with whom I have climbed mountains; trailed through valleys; crossed desert plains; scrambled through the abyss of pain; danced through meadows and now glide amongst the stars-thank you for your love.
To my children, Joel and Olivia, no matter what-they know me as mum
!
To my parents, Noel & Lois McKenzie who have continuously provided support in so many ways throughout the years.
To my younger brother, Aleem McKenzie who never judged but let me know instead he was there
for me-thanks & love!
To the Petra Global Ministries Board of Reference Members-Elder Desmond Campbell, London-UK; Sis Brenda Walters, Ipswich-UK and Bishop Tony Mensah, Renown Christian Church, Ghana-for their prayers, guidance and input into the ministry.
To Rev E Baidoo, Pastor of Triumphant Christian Church, Ghana-God first gave me this message of Tamar for his church in August 2005 and he obediently accepted-God bless you as you remain humble before Him.
Also, in memory of Rev P Baidoo, Triumphant Christian Church, Ghana-a dear friend and brother who encouraged me and my family, prayed with and for us yet rested from his labour and went home to be with the Lord before the book was finished.
To Samuel Johnson, a faithful brother who spoke many words in season to my weary soul at one of the darkest and most indescribably painful times of my life.
To Dr & Sis Joseph Kyari, Glorious Ministries International, London whom God used so mightily to be a channel of God’s healing, love and victory in our family.
To Pastor Rex Akpojaro of Chapel of Praise, London who, in obedience to God, stretched out a hand of friendship, welcome and support even though he didn’t know it was so needed.
To the saints of Chapel of Praise where I am at home in an oasis of love and, most importantly, where the Holy Spirit is welcome and free to have His way.
To the many men and women who have been true brethren, friends, supporters and acquaintances for me and my household-much love and may God continue to bless and keep you in Jesus’ Name!
The poem on the next page is for you all...
POEM:
Everyone Needs Someone
People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldly fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we’re understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life’s greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life’s completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

FOREWORD
Never in the history of humanity, has the world been faced with so many broken lives than what we are currently experiencing today. Men and especially women who have been bruised by circumstances and events that inflicted deep wounds on their lives and destiny form the units that make up the nations.
In this book, thoughtfully authored by Rev Marjorielyn R Campbell, one of the most painful stories of the Bible is used to address the crippling effects of a sexual attack on a woman by a person of trust in her life.
When Rev Mrs Campbell approached me with the manuscript for a review, I looked at the title and I thought, are you sure you want to delve into this?
It is one of those taboo subjects that is never talked about within the family, better left where it is and better swept under the carpet. Even I was sceptical if justice was finally going to be done to the one issue that has crippled many lives in the most honest and sincere manner that will bring healing to victims of such horrific experiences.
That is exactly what Marjorielyn has done to this topic-justice. Over the very short period I have known Marjorielyn and been privileged to serve as a pastor, I have seen countless women experience the healing touch of the Lord Jesus Christ through her life and ministry. What this book ministers to the reader is not just something that was learned from another book or concepts that the human mind put together but it is from something that was given by God and birthed from a life totally devoted to God.
No matter how bruised the life is and regardless of what may have happened, I can guarantee you that you will never remain the same by the time you have read the last page. Healing will spring from within you to the many lives that have been afflicted by this subtle ploy of the enemy to keep the daughters of God bound. It is my prayer that through the pages of this book you will experience the awesome love of God and feel the wholeness that comes from His son, Jesus Christ.
A rose is still a rose and at the scent of water it will bud again.

SCRIPTURE CONTEXT:
2 Samuel 13:1-20
1. And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
2. And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
3. But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shime-ah David’s brother; and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
4. And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? Wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.
5. And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick; and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
6. So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick; and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
7. Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Am-non’s house, and dress him meat.
8. So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
9. And she took a pan, and poured them out before him, but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.
10. And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
11. And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
12. And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing
