About this ebook

The Clouds and the Rain teaches us to understand the different seasons we experience. The major message this book conveys is how to conduct ourselves while burdened with clouds. Many people stress or panic as they do not know how to conduct themselves when they encounter clouds in their lives; others just dont know how to manage Gods blessing.

A gathering of clouds does not discriminate or spare some people, no matter what their social rank. Everyone is vulnerable to this period of clouds, no matter how wealthy or poor. It does not affect only men and spare women, or old people and spare young ones. Neither does it come to the ignorant and spare the educated. It does not come only to the unbeliever and spare the believer, nor does it come only to the congregation and spare the leaders. The clouds come to anyone, at anytime, as permitted by God. This period is usually a sensitive one in which some people blame God for their situations. Many people get disconnected from the promises of God, leaving their blessings behind and walking without any in their lives.

Nobody wants to experience clouds because it is not an enjoyable time; it is a grieving time, when you dont know whom you can trust, a time in which you struggle to believe in God. In this book you will learn how to develop your character and rely on God alone, not relying on people because of their influence or authority. You will also learn not to be the root of any bad circumstances you encounter but instead to strengthen your personal relationship with God.

To the millions of children of God around the world: may this book bring you comforts in the circumstances you are going through and may you have hope that these circumstances will change.

To Reverend Victor Kayumba Lubambu, my father and first mentor, who encourages me to excellence in ministry and helped with the realisation of this book. Also to my mother, Anastasie Mala Ntumba Kayumba. Thanks go to all my siblings for their encouraging words. Special thanks are also extended to my spiritual father and mentor, Bishop Nelson Ed Isibor, the presiding prelate of Fold of Christ Ministry in London.

To all my spiritual children of Faith in Jesus Christ Ministries International worldwide – Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Namibia, Zambia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Especially to my wife, Jolie Ntumba; and our children, Merveille, Exaudie, and Glodie. To my colleague and friend Reverend Apostle Nosa Ighama, senior pastor of Heritage Full Gospel International Church Rotterdam, Netherlands, who encouraged me not to give up writing this despite the length of time it has taken to complete. Also thanks to Ruth Rowley, who helped in the proofreading of the book.

To the King Eternal, Immortal, the all-wise God, and my Lord Jesus Christ – may all glory and praise be yours.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

This book has taken many years to prepare and write, in no small part because I conceived it in French while I was in my country of origin, the Democratic Republic of Congo. Having relocated to the United Kingdom, I needed to translate it into English. However, with persistence and determination, and with the encouragement of colleagues, it is finally complete. I want to acknowledge everyone who participated in the completion of this book: Brian Mfula, Prophet Sadraque Ndangi, Jean-Claude Fwamba, and Rev. Richard Tshibangu.

To the people who helped me with the correction of the manuscript, without your help this project would never have been finished. I am always reminded that we are the sum total of all the people we have known and learned from. This work is the product of tremendous thought, reflection, and personal experiences, which inspired me to take up the pen.

To all the members and staff of Faith in Jesus Christ Ministries in Namibia, thank you for allowing me to develop and refine these ideas by sharing and testing them with you. May His blessings be bestowed upon you and your families.

    FOREWORD

Our perception of Life’s problems can change the way we walk with God & cause us to persevere through the difficulties which inevitably come our way.

In ‘The Clouds & the Rain’ Apostle Simon Ntumba sets out afresh way of seeing the ‘clouds’ which threaten to blot out our peace & steal our joy. He urges us to see that the ‘clouds’ hold the hope of the ‘rain’ to come & that the darkness of the clouds often holds the hope of a great outpouring of blessing.

I have known Simon since he arrived in Swansea several years ago. He is a man of wisdom who because of his apostolic oversight ministers to leaders & congregations in numerous parts of the world.

His desire in this book is to encourage, not only leaders but all Christians to persevere in the face of the often demoralising obstacles & he exhorts us all to ‘keep our eyes fixed on Jesus’ who walks with us in all things.

    INTRODUCTION

We live in different regions, countries, and even continents, but still we have the same knowledge about the rain. A few rare places experience perennial drought, but what I intend to develop in this book will hopefully provide a revelation of things that we neglect yet are very important in our lives. Before the rain comes, heaven informs us through the congregation of rain clouds, and the wise will protect themselves by carrying an umbrella before venturing out, especially those who are blessed to be pedestrians! In Africa in particular most people will rush to find shelter en route to appointments or meetings to
