About The Author:
This very readable book of musings on the daily life is just what it is. Written by a daughter, mother, wife and most importantly as a follower of Jesus Christ brings a perspective that is both endearing and true. The beauty of the book is how the Word of God is central as Gina courageously addresses issues on wrong thinking and behavior. You will find issues addressed that many want to talk about but not felt safe to do so. Reflecting on these writings can only help us walk with God rightly as Gina points us to God again and again and expresses so confidently her trust and hope in the living God.

Quirky stories to make you smile, pointed questions to help examine your life, and sharing of much joy in living out a full life. Good scone recipes too, but we all know the secret lies in the making of scones, so I’ll just have to invite myself over.

I am thankful for my family, the earthly strength of my life’s zeal; my husband Michael for his prayer covering and my children Rebekah, Hannah and Joshua for their pushing me out to the field and cheering me on on numerous occasions.
I can always remember my student days when my father said that English and Math were two very important subjects to pay attention to. I grew up learning to love reading and writing essays and that never stopped. My mother has always been the best mother anyone could ask for; a beauty on the outside and even more on the inside who taught me that a mother is a person who is always there for her family. I am thankful I was born to my parents.
I thank my friends who encouraged me to bring my writings to the printers. I especially thank Mona Loh who had badger eyes needing wolf berry supplements when her proof-reading job was done. And what is a book without a captivating cover picture! What a work well done, my friend and book cover illustrator Belle Chai.
Where would I be and what could I have done without my God—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit—who is my strength, my friend… . my ALL!
Introduction
When I started saving my writings eights years ago, I never thought or dreamt that they would, one day, be compiled and come out from the printer’s as a book. I am no big writer like some whose books I have read, but what has been impressed upon me, I share.
OF BERRIES AND SCONES: On Any Given Day is like how I share it to the women, young couples, children (to start with, my own) and anyone who I minister to, as illustration, discussion or lesson objective. These writings are my own reflections on happenings I see around me. It is my prayer that this book will inspire, teach, affirm, and do whatever good it can for your life in God.
As I bring you into my life and all that surround me as you read a chapter a day, I wish you His greatest gift, and that is knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. God bless you!
p/s An ideal way to have a personal read or sharing it with your friends or small group is to do it while enjoying your favorite berries with a couple of scones.

Letting Go Of Your Sheets
The sound of rain, the feel of slight cool breeze, and a comfortable bed can make even a morning person wish there were five more hours before wake time. That was exactly the scene I was caught in yesterday morning. The culprits: the rain and the cool breeze. The victim: me. Have you been in a similar situation—five more minutes, and when the five minutes are up, there is still time… . so five more minutes—where you feel like the sheets are slowly being pulled and dragged from the tight grip of your clenched fists. Your eyes are still closed; you are savouring closed eyes till the final second when you feel the last bits of the sheets’ corners finally escape your hold. Ok, maybe this is just a little more dramatically imagined but you know what I mean.
I would have given almost anything for a little more sleep yesterday morning because the flesh was ready to give in to the lure of the cool weather but there was a firm nudge in my inner man that reminded me of the needs of my family, the chores, and my appointments for which I need to prepare.
An uncomplicated situation that seems agonizing as a result of one stepping out of comfort zone for the sake of others. But not all is seen from a bad perspective. I have received various lessons from people who dared to leave their comfort zone in the name of faith, justice, redemption, salvation, and more. When God said to Abram to go out of his country (Genesis 12-15) from his father’s house, to some kind of forsaken land, Abram could have ignored God’s call and stayed on in his father’s house to keep enjoying his comfortable surroundings and all that he owned. But Abram decided to heed that call and departed as the LORD has spoken to him. He didn’t know what to expect; how the land
