WINNING LETTER

EVERY week we have a news meeting where we discuss what stories we’re going to pursue for the upcoming editions. There’s laughter, debate, shock and sadness – we often go through a gamut of emotions by the time we’ve heard everyone’s suggestions.

Some stories are fairly straightforward, but many generate lots of conversations – and plenty of the stories that made it into this week’s magazine did just that.

What can the happiest man alive teach us? Russell Brand! How does a woman with a mullet as long as a tall man cope with all that hair? Thomas Markle! The guy staying alive on an inverter . . .

Sometimes the stories we really, really, really want don’t work out, but so often they do. The ones mentioned above are just a few of the lekker ones this week – they’re excellent reads for when you’re ready to wind down.
