    About this Project

This book will guide you through the process of painting Claude Monet's Meadow with Poplars, 1875.

    Why is Monet important?

Monet developed an extensive language of representing nature and left us over 1,600 paintings to learn from.

Here is my first interpretation of this scene:

    45 x 60 x 3.6 cm

And then the version I painted during the production of this book.

    34 x 45 x 1.8 cm

The first version was 45 x 35 cm and the second 90 x 60 cm. If you want to finish the painting in a few hours I would advise using the smaller canvas. The larger canvas requires a lot more of those Monet-brush-strokes to cover!

Your painting won't look exactly like these. That doesn't matter! It will very likely look better. My method of teaching enables you to express your own taste and feelings about what is beautiful,
