Autism How to Challenge Your Beliefs and Fixations

Autism is a brilliant and amazing thing. Sometimes my mind can get stuck and fixate on things for a long period of time. When I say a long period of time I am not even just talking for hours. I am not just talking for days. Sometimes I am talking about weeks, months, and even years.

Sometimes fixations are great for people with autism because they can lead to us doing a lot of good things and excellent work ethic. Other times fixations can be extremely unhealthy for us because sometimes we make the choice to fixate on things that are not healthy for us.

This has often been the case for me. While there are some things that I fixate on that are amazing things and help me better my life such as writing books about my life with autism there are many other things in which I fixate on that are unhealthy for me and sometimes some of those fixations can go as far as to interfere with my life and ruin my life.

One of those fixations for me was a fixation social skills coaching. From the early onset of my experience with autism spectrum disorder I was very interested in learning social skills. I wanted to learn how to connect with others better. I wanted to make more friends and most importantly for me I wanted to learn how to go from being friends with someone to being in a romantic relationship with them.

I was able to go online and use Google to find a lot of support in social skills training. This led me to reaching out to some local social skills coaches in the Indiana area to see if they would work with me. When I had a little bit of extra money I would use that to hire these social skills coaches to work with me.

I loved the idea of social skills
