Introduction
Chickpea is also known as Garbanzo beans or Egyptian peas, its widely use in Americas and around the globe.
Chickpeas have a have a delicious nutlike taste and buttery texture. They provide a concentrated source of protein.
Chickpeas originated in the Middle East; They were first cultivated around approximately 3000 BC.
There are countless ways to enjoy chickpeas. This book has collection of chickpeas recipes from heirloom and inspired by international cuisine.
Chickpeas are available dried and in can in most grocery stories.
You can change seasoning to your liking in the recipes in this book, such as Tex-Mex, Mediterranean, Italian, or Cajun.
A half cup serving of chickpeas pack in about eight grams of fiber, helping you easily hit the FDA’s 25-gram daily fiber recommendation. Between 65-75% of the fiber found in garbanzo beans is insoluble fiber.
