His World - Khali Raymond
Love is Hate, So Hate is Love?
Here’s some irony for you.
They do everything they can to hurt you.
They’re forever preaching they love you,
yet are eternally hard on you.
Keeping you from your true potential,
wanting you to conform to
what they want you to be.
You do everything in life you don’t want to do—
to keep them happy?
That’s selfish.
They say I love you too much.
To a point where you ponder if
it means anything or not.
Whether it be your parents
or your partners, whoever it may be.
You don’t care that they’re taking from you.
They use love as means to hide hate.
True love doesn’t involve abuse.
You get stricken, only to get hugged afterward.
That partner of yours keeps on
coming back, you fall for it every time.
Let me ask this.
Love is Hate, right?
So…
Hate Is Love???
Past Prospects
I have a special song,
Um, wait.
It’s an actual ballad.
Something for my past prospects.
Here’s a nice piece for you to remember.
I loved you, oh yeah
More than I did myself…
The way you treated me is where things went wrong.
I felt like I was married to you.
I was down for you
You wasn’t down for me
You swore to keep the heart
of man guarded and off-limits.
But you went and popped the
chains, constricting them.
Making me vulnerable.
Not sharing the same adoration that I gave you.
Whenever I felt weak, you just helped to keep me down.
Which was the cause of an even greater fatigue.
Although I knew the real damage
lied in the relation or the crush, I didn’t care.
I was desperate, I wanted something
because I felt that I needed it
Instead of taking time to replenish myself.
Not depending on something
external to keep me happy.
Not resorting to a need that isn’t even there
Just to not look a certain way.
I realized the road I was going down
And told myself: No more!
I had to live and learn, whether you dumped me
Or if I dumped you, that setback of
losing you may have put me through a phase,
causing me to go through a lot.
But I kept persevering and pushed past the odds.
Now, it’s like I don’t even know you.
I don’t need to give you power
That’s what you thrive off.
I don’t need you to apologize or justify anything.
I’m doing just fine, thank you.
