I did not know that meeting this poet a little over a decade ago at a poetry event, would be meeting one of the most genuine outspoken writers and loyal persons that I have come to call friend. Brandy Gates is an accomplished, writer, public servant and business woman I am proud to consider her not only a friend but one of my closest friends. As a writer and poet myself I have enjoyed hearing her poetry over the years because she gives you simplistic and complete thoughts that often leave you refreshed and full.

Her integrity and passion for the things she believes in speaks volumes for her work. Her love for people and desire to bless and serve others through her writing is something I am very proud to support and you will be too.

This book can be categorized not only as poetry but also as a very raw, poignant yet victorious memoir. Knowing my friend Brandy all these years I have come to know her as a private person and in this book she opens up about traumatic events that she has endured and overcome.
