Am I truly safe?

I’ve recently found out that my partner has been caught up in previous convictions. He has never shown me any hate or controlling behaviour, but I can’t get the idea of it all out of my head. How can I truly know that he will make me safe? Do I seek help? Natasha, Barnsley
