About this ebook

Emelia's twenty-eight now, and getting tired of the bar scene and hookups with random men. Mary, a much younger tomboyish blonde, starts talking to her for seemingly no reason. A few shots and beers in, Emelia realizes that she's being hit on, and - against all sense and sanity - she decides to take Mary home just to see what happens. As they tend to do when alcohol is involved, things quickly get out of hand, and Emelia finds herself in way over her head (and naked).

~18,000 words. Advisory: contains scenes of sex between women, oral sex, sixty-nine, and more.

    Emelia’s First Time

It was the puns that did it, really. Emelia had no idea what the younger girl was doing even talking to her while they both waited to order drinks at the crowded bar, but the awkward puns continued.

She looked slightly under drinking age. Twenty? Possibly nineteen. Yep, she definitely had a fake ID. It said her name was Tamika, but that couldn’t be right. The blonde in the photo did almost match the waifish blonde short-haired tomboy before her, though, enough that she’d probably get away with it. What’s your name? Emelia asked. Your real one.

The much younger girl grinned sheepishly. Mary.

Ah. She wasn’t sure why Mary was talking to her, but, at twenty-eight and supposedly wise and learned, Emelia also wasn’t sure why she was responding. Maybe it was just the fact that something new was happening, something that stood out from the years-long blur of one night stands and three month relationships. Go to the bar with friends, get hit on, go home with some guy—it was getting stale. Why not talk to a weirdo and potentially make a new friend? So you’re a fan of puns, Mary?

Not at all, the blonde tomboy insisted. I hate them. In response to a querying look, she elaborated, I just say random things when I get nervous.

Why was she nervous? That was weird. Oh wait—it had to be her age. It’s just a bar, Emelia told her. Everyone’s here for the same reason.

Oh, good. Mary gulped, looked for the bartender, saw that he was no closer, and returned her gaze. Can I buy you a shot?

Practically scoffing, and figuring the girl just wanted to exercise her ability to buy alcohol with fake identification, Emelia said, Hah, sure. Who would turn down a free shot?

The bartender finally came over, and Mary smoothly ordered two shots. It was impressive, really, how quickly the younger blonde turned off her nervousness and put on nonchalance. The moment the bartender turned his back to make the shots, though, she shivered.

Relax, Emelia said conspiratorially. They only check IDs at the door here. You’re already in the clear. Just have fun.

Yeah? Alright, she replied, bouncing on her toes a little before calming down. Your hair’s really pretty.

She really did say random things when she was nervous! Emelia laughed again as her long brown hair was tested lightly by Mary’s fingers. Thanks? I didn’t do anything special to it tonight.

No? Mary asked. What brings you out to the bar, then?

It’s no big event, Emelia told her, with a teasing tone that implied I’ve been around.

The blonde’s eyebrows rose. Is for me.

That was a bit more surprising than Emelia expected. First time?

Yeah. Mary shivered again. Hah, sorry, I promise I’ll be less nervous. The shots were delivered in front of her, and she handed over cash. These will certainly help!

They sure will. Emelia took hers, clinked it against her new friend’s, and downed it without hesitation.

Oh god, Mary said, making a pained face. Are we supposed to have a chaser with this?

Sure. Emelia managed to get her order in with the bartender at that moment, and two basic beers were quickly handed to her. She handed one over with a smile. On me.

Mary chugged half of it in one breath, and then finally lowered her drink and sighed. Much better. She gave a long slow smile for a moment, and then looked to her left. Wanna get a table?

Emelia shrugged supportively. Lead the way. She followed the tomboyish blonde to a back corner where they could actually hear each other talk. It was a nice change from the half-shouting she usually had to do with guys that hit on her. As she sat down, her phone buzzed, and she whipped it out to check her texts. Huh, my friends can’t make it.

How about that, Mary said cryptically. Mine bailed on me, too.

That’s too bad. What’re you gonna do here alone?

    "Talk to you, of course."

Emelia smiled despite herself. Ok, weirdo.

    Mary’s grin only grew wider.

What was this? Something about this was oddly intriguing. Emelia decided to relax a bit and see how far this random girl’s weirdness went. The music in the bar was still rather loud, so she scooted a little closer around the circular table—and Mary did the same. A tad too close, but happy at being able to speak at a normal level, Emelia said, You go to college here?

    Nodding, Mary confirmed, Freshman.

Unsure what else to ask, Emelia defaulted to basic first-date banter. It was out of place, she knew, but it was the only route she could think of. Chosen your major yet?

Nah, I’m gonna try a few general classes, then pick.

    That’s a good strategy. That’s what I did.

Oh yeah? What major are you?

Emelia really laughed hard at that one. Girl, I graduated four years ago.

Doing the math in her head—and visibly a tad slower because of the shot and beer—Mary gave an intrigued expression. An older woman! Oh, my.

Her cheeks burning, Emelia frowned. "I’m not that old."

Mary spoke a bit more loudly than she seemed to intend. Of course not! You’re gorgeous!

Pfft. Emelia up-ended the last of her beer, surprised that she’d downed it so quickly. The strange situation had had her sipping way faster than usual, and she wasn’t alone. Oh, you’re done with your beer, too.

Want another shot?! Mary asked, leaning in with a big smile. Her breath smelled of the beer she’d just gulped.

Emelia didn’t shy away. Sure, why not?

The tomboy blonde jumped up happily and practically darted to the bar.

Sitting and waiting, Emelia kept running the situation over in her mind, looking at it from different angles. There was something off about this conversation, but something she couldn’t quite pin down also intrigued her. She’d never just plain sat down with a strange girl before, let alone a much younger one, so…

Mary returned with the shots, and two more beers besides. I got the same brand, since it was pretty good.

Hey, don’t spend too much, Emelia found herself saying. Although she was happy to accept free drinks, that was normally something done by guys that were hitting on her. She couldn’t really spell all that out, though, without it being weird. "We don’t want to get too drunk."

Mary nodded widely, her expression awed by this parcel of wisdom from her older, wiser table-mate. Right, right.

Together, they clinked their shots, and then chased them with beer. Starting to feel rather heady, Emelia breathed out and focused her awareness. You normally drink this hard?

    Nope. Just when I’m nervous.

Why are you so nervous? Emelia finally asked, just
