Wow! I love being able to fly high like this! I swooped joyously around the room at almost ceiling height.

    Yeah, it's great, Danny said.

I lowered myself, fluttering my wings slightly. Something was wrong. The air in the classroom had gone quiet. Oops! I was about to land on Danny. Move out of the way, Danny! I called.

    He did, just in time.

When I reached the floor, I glanced at him. He was sniffing the air. What's wrong?

    Smell it, he said.

I sniffed and then coughed. Smoke! Where's it coming from? The school's not on fire, is it?

No, they don't have fires in Heaven.

Danny's right. A familiar voice boomed into the room. But on Earth they do.

The screen appeared, showing Jerry's face, his expression serious. Whatever was happening down there couldn't be good.

I felt my face heat up then, and not because of anything I'd done. It felt like was it on fire. Heavens! Were we able to sense and feel what was happening on Earth now? Amazing! But not so good if bad things were going on.

Jerry, what's happening? Danny smells smoke and I feel heat, like I'm on fire, I said.

You really want to know? Jerry asked.

Danny glanced at me and raised an eyebrow.

Yes, if it's to do with our next test, I said.

Be prepared, you two. You won't like what you see. I didn't. Ready?

Jerry's face vanished, to be replaced by a scene of fire and destruction, zooming in on the action. What the...? I nearly said the other H word. What had got into these guys? Buildings were being set on fire or destroyed by thugs smashing into the shops and looting the shelves, destroying not only their own lives but those of the people who owned or worked in these places. One thought came into my mind. If someone was to get in there…

    Exactly, Jerry said.

The image of destruction was replaced by Jerry’s face. I breathed a sigh of relief.

What the hell was all that about? Danny said.

You may well ask, Jerry replied. Boredom. Young people have nowhere to go to let off steam, no luck with finding jobs, so they have decided to vent their frustrations on the public.

How did it start? I asked.

    With one of these.

A picture of a mobile appeared on the screen, moving in closer and closer until I could read the text message clearly: 'Fun times here.'

    Call that fun, I thought.

    Exactly, Jerry said.
