Everybody has a story. This is his story and his challenge.

I believe that everybody has a story, and this is my story and my challenge. When someone has a story, that person can capitalize on it and accomplish the impossible.

You can only focus on what you can control, not on what you can’t. I cannot control a future with my wife and walk back into the relationship we had in the past. I can only use this time to build something bigger, the future will be different… and only better.

Losing your mind: I will never forget the surreal feeling siting on the couch in an empty house… I thought I was dead. I was convinced I died. It was the explanation to why I could not see my dogs, my wife, or my mother-in-law anymore. I truly believed, right then, I was dead. It was the only explanation I could come up with. I sat there asking myself. What if I am dead. . . What now? What am I doing here? Was I really dead? The only way to find out was to try inflict pain on myself. I soon discovered that I, in fact, was not dead… and so, the story gets told...

    Kim Kuntz Biography

    Foreword

This book is about the lies, accusations, and drama involved with affairs and divorce. It’s a fictional story based on true events, facts, real statements, and yes… those are real emails.

To the love of my life:

Cheating doesn’t hurt . . . it was the lies after I caught you and you blaming me. The entire situation just sucks, and in this process we have both been hurt… and I am sorry for any and all parts I have played.

    I will always love you.

I must sincerely thank you for this experience, without it, this book would not exist!

    To all You Family Lawyers:

You don’t make divorce easier, you capitalize on tearing apart feelings and keeping people from talking to each other in order to make a resolution easier! (That’s just wrong).

    Trying to divorce with lawyers:

Ugh… my ah-ha moment was when my personal bill hit $15,000 with no results and woke to the news your wife wants you to know…. Your dog is dead! and realizing our relationship was worse than it was when we parted ways. With no end in sight and endless legal bills, we said screw it, they are useless and needed to pursue the do it yourself route.

You said, I need to get to a point where I hate her. I said, That’s not going to happen. You started me down a path of going broke, losing my investments . . . you encouraged me to cash out investments and borrow from friends and family. I must say thank you because you were my therapist in the lowest point of my life. You actually probably saved my life… you are in my heart forever…. BUT…. I am not going to hate her and I am not going broke over this.

She was told, Don’t worry, I am not worried about getting paid… your property is worth a lot of money. Ugh… you are terrible… really… you SUCK!

I would like to provide two simple letters to all you family lawyers out there . . .

    Chapter 1

    The Rapid Body Survey

Jay hated first aid class. It was a waste of precious time, standing and listening to an instructor talk about wounds. How was this useful? He had better plans . . . plans way cooler than spending his days in a hot, cramped room with people he did not know or like. What a waste. Summer was starting and, at sixteen, he did not want to learn about CPR or how to splint a fracture.

He wanted to hang out with some friends at the beach. Pretty girls went to the beach. You could sneak a beer or two without anyone knowing. Blood and bones were not an area of interest for him. This was his old man’s idea, and he could not very well say no. Son, you will thank me, he said in his gruff voice. So, with great reluctance, Jay showed up at the first aid classes with resentment churning in his gut.

Class was being held in a small building by the beach. There were ten of them—a couple of older people and teenagers who wished they were anywhere but there. Jay had hoped this would be over by lunchtime so that he could catch up with his friends.

What was that? It was the laugh that caught his attention, a laugh that sounded like the tinkling of bells. It sounded glorious. Raising his head from bandaging, he tracked the angelic voice. Green eyes collided with his, and in that moment he was caught. Everything faded. All of a sudden, there was a reason to be in this first aid class. She had green eyes and an angel’s voice.

First aid class seemed to be finally looking up. How could he get close to her? Turning back to the instructor, Okay, guys, let’s pair up. Jason started to make his way toward her. He had to be close. Just be in her orbit and listen to her laugh. All right, said the instructor, whose name he could not remember. We are going to do rapid body surveys on your partner, so don’t be shy. Let me show you how.

Ignoring the man at the front, Jay turned to the green-eyed goddess and stuck his hand out. Hi, I am Jason Carruthers… everyone just calls me Jay She stared for a few seconds and then turned to face the front. Jay’s hand dangled in the air untouched. Undeterred, he continued to speak. We can be partners. Green eyes turned to assess, and a shrug followed. That was only answer he needed… she must love him? It was going to be his life mission to get close to her.

All right, class, lets begin. The instructor’s voice intruded on his daydream. He might not know the exercise, but he knew she had a dimple on her left cheek. Are you going to stare or do the survey? Her voice sounded just as angelic. The dark-haired girl stared at him like he was a special kind of idiot. He loved it… he was special 

Right... Muttering, he tried to act cool and impress the girl with no name. We are doing rapid body surveys, so do you want to go first? The same shrug followed (with an oh-ya baby screaming inside his body). Jay dropped to the floor and lay still. The girl hovered above him, her dark hair curtaining them. A sweet scent seemed to envelope them as she began to run her hands over his body, from the top of his head and down to the chest. His body tingled as he gazed at her, face scrunched in concentration. Jay had
