Seventeen-year-old Danny Usborne is killed on his motorbike when a race against his mate's car goes wrong. Danny then finds himself in the School for Lost Angels. Here he meets teacher, Richard, who sends him back to Earth to stop teenager Cassandra from crashing her mum's car on a joyride, and possible causing injury or worse. With persuasion and newly found magical abilities, Danny manages to prevent Cassandra from doing anything stupid. Back at the School, Danny is told he has passed his first test, and he has got Cass and her mum talking. Then he sees that the school is like him, magical. He then meets Lizzie, who recognises him from her test. The school's purpose is explained to Danny and he is told that both him and Lizzie now have to pass their pair test. Then he finds he has started to grow wings. Danny can't wait to do his next text, with his wings and powers.

Seventeen-year-old Danny Usborne meets an untimely end during a motorcycle race gone awry. Finding himself in the School for Lost Angels, he encounters teacher Richard, who tasks him with returning to Earth. His mission: prevent teenager Cassandra from reckless joyriding in her mom's car. Armed with newfound magical abilities, Danny successfully persuades Cassandra to avoid danger. Back at the School, he learns he passed his first test by fostering communication between Cass and her mom. Discovering the magical nature of the school, Danny meets Lizzie, who recognizes him from her own test. The school's purpose is unveiled, and Danny and Lizzie must now pass their pair test. As he begins to grow wings, Danny eagerly anticipates his next test, eager to utilize his newfound powers.
Grammatical acuity, a strong & systematic arrangement and a mastery of syntax are all present in writer's arsenal. Insights shared by author from his past experiences were added highlights.

I’m bored. There’s nothing to do around here,
I heard a female voice whine.
Then there came another voice, I know, Steph. Hang on. Mum’s car’s outside. I fancy a ride.
Go on, Cass. You can do it. Take it. Go on.
I stopped walking along the blue expanse, which seemed to be like a huge sky. The next moment, one of my feet slipped and I was falling down through a white, fluffy area. Whoa. Where was I going?
I landed with a thud on a hard floor.

The word ‘dare’ made my stomach lurch and I spun round, looking for the person who’d spoken. She sounded teenage, the same as me. I hadn’t seen anyone else my age all the time I’d been here. Only younger or older children. Then a boy, probably about eight, glided past me, bawling his eyes out.
