About this ebook

Change Your Diet to Live Healthier!

It is now a proven fact that many of the sicknesses, illnesses and diseases that plague mankind, are a direct or indirect result of the worsening of people’s dietary habits. This has been attributed, for the most part, to the ever increasing rhythms of life which create stress and anxiety. People need to eat fast, need to eat unhealthy foods and sometimes they need to eat while standing up or even when walking (running sometimes). In order to make the next appointment with a client, or to abide by the rules of the company they work at.

For those that take a willful decision to get away from all of the above and take care of their body and thus experience better health and in the end a better quality of life, part of the solution is to turn to healthier foods and most of all to what has become known as superfoods.

    INTRODUCTION

It is now a proven fact that many of the sicknesses, illnesses and diseases that plague mankind, are a direct or indirect result of the worsening of people’s dietary habits. This has been attributed, for the most part, to the ever increasing rhythms of life which create stress and anxiety. People need to eat fast, need to eat unhealthy foods and sometimes they need to eat while standing up or even when walking (running sometimes). In order to make the next appointment with a client, or to abide by the rules of the company they work at.

Add to the above the lack of physical exercise, the lack of sleep (not only in reference to hours, but also in reference to good quality), the bad habit of skipping breakfast and the constant need of controlling our nerves before saying or doing things that we will later regret. The conclusion becomes a direct and unavoidable road to health deterioration and eventually paying large amounts of money to doctors and nutritionists.

While it may not be possible to change our jobs if we are employees (of any level), or the way we do business if we are working freelance (this is a matter of character and our perception of success), or even make the time to do some physical exercise. It is very much possible to adjust our dietary habits drastically and help our own body cope with the rhythm adversity in much better terms.

In the western world, the current dietary habits include a lot of fast food and a lot of processed food. The first and biggest disadvantage of this diet is the abundance of monosodium glutamate (otherwise and more widely known as MSG) which is actually introduced to the food to make us eat more and therefore spend more.

Other than that, all the processed food that we may even be eating at home is full of free fatty acids, inflammatory agents and chemical substances that, taking the pursuit for profit issues aside, do more than damage the organs of the body. They induce the will to turn to these foods and avoid the healthy ones as they taste much better.

Furthermore, even when they choose healthy foods, people in the western world usually eat the wrong foods. They consume more carbohydrates and fat and less protein and micronutrients than they need to. After all, a nice dish of spaghetti is much easier and faster to cook than other options available.

The final conclusion, if we were to study the western diet more closely, is that everything is sacrificed in the need to make the most in reference to the time that we have available. Healthy cooking is considered a waste of time. Half an hour of walking is not allowed of we are
