About this ebook

In the second installment, FOLLOWED AND TAKEN: EXCEEDING LIMITS, Casey’s sister, Irene is released from the hospital. His parents blame him for Irene’s kidnapping, but not more than he blames himself. Casey’s friend, Trevor, gives Irene and Casey a ride home but once on the highway, a woman driving a Mustang shoots Trevor and Casey is thrown through the windshield as the car careens out of control. The woman grabs Irene, tosses her in the trunk and speeds away.

Miraculously, Casey and Trevor survive but the news isn’t good—Detective Torie Palmer, who’s always been on Casey’s side, reveals Mr. Wallace, the neighbor who’d kidnapped Irene is dead.  But Casey’s got a few ideas of his own of how to get the answers he and Detective Palmer need.  What seems like the end is only the beginning as he returns to his old neighborhood to find the kidnappers and his sister…and he and his baseball bat don’t care who gets hurt in the process!

Casey and Detective Palmer sat in the lobby of the hospital waiting on Irene. It had been two days since the incident in which she was kidnapped and had finally been cleared to leave the hospital.

So how have you been detective? Casey asked.

I have been okay just trying to figure out who else is behind these kidnappings, what about you? She responded.

Pretty good, I’m ready for my little sister to go home already, and also I’m getting ready to start building up the website for the company soon.

Awesome, now things can go back to normal for you.

Yep, thank God. Hey, would you like to maybe hang out sometime? You look stressed maybe I could take you out to eat. It’s the least I could do after everything you’ve done for me.

Before she could answer him, the doors of the emergency room opened and out came Irene with Mr. and Mrs. Franco.

Casey! Irene said as she ran to hug him.

Detective Palmer! she then went over and hugged her too.

She had gotten better and didn’t seem as traumatized as everyone thought she would be.

Mom, can I go with Casey? Irene said.

Irene, are you serious? Mrs. Franco said. No I’m not letting you go with Casey! You were just rescued from a kidnapping that happened on Casey’s watch. Do you really think I would let you go with him again?

Mom, please, please, please, please, please.

His parent’s looked at each other and then back at Irene.

Listen Irene, No! We’re not letting you go! You’re crazy even thinking about it!

Hey kid, listen to mom and dad and go with them. I screwed up big time, Casey said.

    Irene then sat down disappointed.

Casey was still very unforgiving of himself. He felt the entire situation really was his fault, and he didn’t want anything like that to happen again. He remembered the feelings and emotions he went through when Irene wasn’t with him. It didn’t matter if his parents couldn’t trust him anymore; the only thing that he wanted was for his little sister to be safe.

Hey, you’re going to make it, right? Terrance Wallace is being transferred today to Granbury, Detective Palmer said.

Yea no doubt, but I will have to first go home with my parents, and then I’ll come back right away. You know, to make sure Irene gets home safe.

    Okay, see you soon, bye.

    Bye.

Detective Palmer left and Casey stayed with his family in the lobby for a couple of minutes. Casey and his parents didn’t say
