Hearing the rattle of the letterbox, I raced to the front door and scooped up the bundle on the doormat.
Rifled through the junk mail until I found the letter I’d been waiting for.
Ripping it open, I began to read, until I felt a little hand pull at my sleeve.
‘What’s that?’ my daughter Christina, then 4, piped up.
‘It’s from Mummy’s special friend, ’ I smiled.
