The Devil Will Get You

Daisy went out to rent a movie. All video stores were closed. When she had given up and was heading home, Daisy saw an open video store. She went in and looked for a horror movie. Having trouble deciding which movie to rent, she asked the clerk for help.

There's a horror film that arrived today, but it's still in the storeroom; I'm going to get it, said the clerk, and he went to the storeroom.

While waiting, Daisy noticed a DVD case on the counter. This DVD case did not have a cover. Curious, Daisy opened the box and saw a charred DVD disc.

Please don't touch this, said the clerk, returning from the storeroom. He took the DVD from Daisy's hands.

Sorry, I just wanted to see what movie it was.

That movie can't be watched, said the clerk.

Really? Why not?

It's just a home movie made by teenagers.

The clerk showed the film he picked up from the storeroom.

Take this movie, ‘The Devil Will Get You.’ It's much better.

Daisy agreed.

Give me your ID, and I'll register you.

While the clerk was registering, Daisy opened the box, took out the forbidden DVD, and put it in her bag.

When she got home, the first thing Daisy did was put the forbidden DVD in the player to see what kind of home movie it was.

The TV remained on a black screen for several minutes. Then, it started making noises, and finally, a woman tied to a column appeared in the video. Around this woman, there were several men with their faces covered by hoods. They held lit torches. One of the men poured gasoline on the woman, then another man came and set her on fire. The woman laughed hysterically. Before dying, she cried out, Satan, I ask that all those who witness my death meet the same fate as me in three days. In return, I give you my soul.

The TV went off-air.
