The conversation leads the young woman to reveal a guilty event from her past regarding the death of a little boy. With the help of the missionary's evocation, the young woman is determined to apologize to the tortured soul for her wrongdoing that cost him his life. However, after performing a seance to contact him, things don't turn out the way the two expected.
About The Author
I spend most of my time reading, writing, or creating art. When I am not doing any of those things, I am listening to music or obsessively binge-watching animated shows and movies. I always have my head in the clouds, daydreaming of all sorts of ridiculously divine things that transport me away from the real world, and I love moving through life that way. I live happily somewhere on planet Earth.

A Missionary, A Survivor, And A Dead Man - Sharon Forester
I was arguing with my mother about a trip she had to take from our home in Kansas to Tennessee due to her job as a reporter. I did not want her to be gone this whole week because I did not want to be alone in our wooden house that is in the middle of nowhere sitting on the desert sand. I would be lonely during the day and terrified during the night. I wouldn't even have a friend that can comfort me. Last time I checked, there weren't any neighbors around.
Mom, I don't want you to go! I don't want to be here alone for a whole week! I'll miss you too much!
I will miss you, too, but you have to stay here, Maine. You are seventeen years old. I think you can take care of yourself. I prepared you for everything, so you wouldn’t have to leave the house for any reason.

I stroked my cat’s beautiful brown and white fur. Mom looked at the cat with a smile and stroked her for a moment. Penny purred.
Now, Maine, I want you to take care of the cat. And don’t leave the house. Don’t open the door to anyone. I will be back before you know it.
She hugged me tightly.
I hugged her back, my eyes making tears. I’m going to miss you, Mom.
I’ll miss you, too, sweetie.
She opened the door. She caught me glancing at the small coffee table behind us. There was a picture of a boy with black hair and green eyes. My mother was staring at me sadly. You miss Lenny?
So much.
I was trying not to make my voice crack, but that didn’t work. How embarrassing. He was a really good friend of mine. And I ruined his life.
You did not ruin his life.
"Mom, we were in a boat on the cliff of the waterfall. I leaned down
